We Can’t Wish Away Climate Change

It would be an enormous relief if the recent attacks on the science of global warming actually indicated that we do not face an unimaginable calamity requiring large-scale, preventive measures to protect human civilization as we know it.

    • More denialist Bs about semantics to cover up the fact they are ignorant about science. I have personally called it global wamring and climate change for YEARS. Change the record already. But hey, if you really want a term to describe it how about HUMAN FAIL.

      And thank you Mr. Gore for being a voice of reason and truth in a sea of stupidity and political swill.

      Although, to be totally honest here after reading this article, I have two criticisms:
      One, cap and trade now based on the urgency of needing Co2 reductions quickly in my view would be cumbersome to enact in time, and I do think there is a mechanism that could address it, and that is the revenue neutral carbon tax you have also been advocating for.

      Two, I agree with everything you stated here, however, you failed to mention anything regarding the Obama admininstration's backward step to nuclear, it's love of "clean" coal, and its CO2 caps which are totally inadequate to meet this crisis, as well as the pipeline being built to Wisconsin to pipe in dirty toxic oil sands from Canada!

      If we are going to see the progress we must see to address this crisis properly, it is time to hold the politicians on all sides accountable for their counterproductive status quo policies.
