For my innocent brothers in prison –

This poem is for my innocent brothers in prison who have been put there by a loved one falsely accusing them of a crime. My ex-wife lied about me and had me thrown in jail – fortunately my children knew the truth and testified on my behalf. The charges were dropped. Too many of you men were not so lucky and ended up in prison. My heart goes out to you. Hang tough!

INNOCENT
By Reid Baer
If a loved one falsely accused
you of a terrible crime – an
immoral act – would it make you
question your own mind? And if more
people you respected sided
with your accusers would it make
you completely stir crazy there
stewing in hypnotic self doubt
in a cold isolated cell
as the sinister media
sensationalized the court case
calling you a monster from hell
promoting the brainwashed story
tellers while destroying you in
the public eye? Is there enough
sanity in you to declare
the definitive truth: it’s all
a damned diabolical lie?!

Most of the people in prison did something to get themselves there. There are very, very few people there that are not guilty. Very few.
