    • I am truly amazed that people aren't paying more attention to folks like Ron Paul. I mean, seriously, the United States is facing a debt crisis that is going to crush us.

    • I'm definitely no Republican and I can't say I agree with Ron Paul about Immigration or Abortion, but it's real hard to disagree with him about everything else, check out his website if you're not convinced, with an impartial look it's hard to deny that the man has some valid ideas despite any of his short comings.

    • Surprise surprise - Fox news and the Republicans trying to scare the American people into supporting their pilgrimage of greed. The next generation will never trust your evil empire. Your old ideas will be erased and remembered as Americas biggest mistake.

Good sales pitch Mike - but I'm not interested in your self interests; I'm interested in providing a healthy lifestyle for every American. Libertarianism is Capitalism at it's worst. The reason why Americas economy has imploded is because of the deregulation of multi billion dollar corporations, wall street, and insurance providers, not to mention lowering taxes for the rich hasn't helped anyone but the rich. Libertarianism is the next step to Anarchy, take a vacation to Somalia and try to tell me how great their infrastructure is. It's nice to know that your party doesn't support slavery, but without regulations in business that is exactly what you will achieve. A huge majority of the American people working 50 hour weeks for extremely low wages, while the top 3% takes all the wealth.

Libertarians are bald headed business men in three piece suits that would screw over their own brothers and sisters for a quarter, and give nothing back to the working class.
Good luck ever getting my support.

I agree with you that corporations have a great deal to do with the tanking of the economy, however, it isn't because of capitalism that this has happened.

We don't have a captalistic economy, we a a corporatist (corporate capitalism) economy. Corporatism and capitalism are two drastically different concepts.
If we actually had a full, free market, capitalistic system, things would not be the way they are now. Company controlled and government interfered.

Why is it that most libertarians are always trying to convince you that they are on your side. I've lived in many places, in many other countries, Capitalism is failing because it brings out the worst in the human animal. Libertarianism will fail because it lacks structure, which is monumentally important in any society. This country would be in complete anarchy if you made even more deregulations. There are appealing qualities to libertarianism, but it will only cause more pain and frustration for the American people.

The bigoted past of Ron Paul:

decades worth of obsession with conspiracies, sympathy for the right-wing militia movement, and deeply held bigotry against blacks, Jews, and gays. In short, they suggest that Ron Paul is not the plain-speaking antiwar activist his supporters believe they are backing--but rather a member in good standing of some of the oldest and ugliest traditions in American politics.

how sad, unimatrix0, you've clearly haven't though things out enough

      http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/01/10/paul.newsletters/index.html

"Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, Ghandi, they're the heroes [of my life]." - Ron Paul

^can you explain if CNN would lie? or are you too cowardly to respond

what happened to your beliefs to reject, absolutely, revenge, aggression, and retaliation? the foundation of such a method, is love and should always be, if you want to change people's mind you have to have an open one yourself

you catch flies with honey, unimatrix0, not hate

please stop hating unimatrix0, no one is attacking you, and no one is asking you to support ron paul

no hate, I just want people to know the truth. I have no doubt that Ron Paul denies he is a racist - all racists deny they are racists.

The fact is for over 20 years Ron Paul published racist newsletters. That is a fact.

    • unimatrix0:

      facts? you care about facts?

what about the fact "a half-dozen longtime libertarian activists—including some still close to Paul" had identified Rockwell as the "chief ghostwriter" of several controversial, anonymously written articles published in Ron Paul newsletters from "roughly 1989 to 1994."

      http://reason.com/archives/2008/01/16/who-wrote-ron-pauls-newsletter

we must see all sides of the story before coming to conclusions

and if you want people to know the truth then maybe if you had better evidence, talked in a way that wasn't patronizing, and instead engage in actually talk about policies addressed in the articles instead of spamming them, i and others would hear you out more

when you act like a troll, people will assume you are one, i'm not trying to be mean just honest

stop the hate, start the love

the fact is that Rockwell was ghostwriting for Ron Paul - Ron Paul's name was on the top of those newsletters. For 20 years Ron Paul put his name on those racist, bigoted newsletters.

Rather you are mean or honest is not my concern, I could care less what you think of me or the names you might call me. The fact that you deny Paul's past racism tells me all I need to know.

I do know that every time I see a Ron Paul post I will inform people of Paul's past racism and bigotry.

How do you justify Paul signing off on all those newsletters? If Paul is not a racist why did he publish Rockwell's racist bigotry if he did not agree with it? The clear implication is that Paul agreed with everything in the Newsletter, since it was his newsletter.

    • unimatrix0:

yes, he did have responsibility for those articles but as the well-documented CNN reports go he poorly mismanaged the newsletter and has yet to own up to it fully, he didn't write or say anything racist, do you think CNN is racist by default then?

i'm glad to hear you don't see my criticism as mean-spirited

its just you're not going to change people's mind or inform them this way, acting like a troll and spamming

have you had any success? or is this just for your self-gratification?

I do take pleasure in the posts, otherwise I would not make them. As for my effect, who knows? There are countless lurkers who just come here and look. I am sure I have enlightened a few.

So you want to argue that Paul was so incompetent, inept, and just plain stupid that he allowed racism and bigotry to be published under his name for 20 years?

I don't think Paul is that stupid or incompetent. Hence I must conclude that Paul knew full well about the racist and bigoted content of his newsletter.

Paul supporters are like a strange cult, I hope you get some help.

"i hope you get some help" you see! that's the patronizing i'm talking about, if you stop that people will take you seriously!

and i doubt "countless lurkers," as you generously call them, are in anyway effected by your biased claims, do you see the negative comments and thumbs down you get? you're not convincing anyone so it must be pleasure being a troll

i do think Paul is stupid actually, he is a congressman after all, but he's one of the best congressmen i've ever seen

if you want to keep hating paul and paul supporters go ahead, i've already been hated for being atheist, libertarian, and gay so you're no different from them to me

my only problem, is your approach, keep spamming any post about paul and that will just prove my theory that you slandering him because you are bitter

engage the policies libertarianism support and you will not only connivence me but others through objectivity and reasoning
