Education politics: Evolution, homeschooling, academic fraud

A disturbing report comes from the Associated Press - homeschooling curriculum is failing to teach evolution. This appalling fact raises important questions about the ethics of homeschooling.

When does homeschooling become unethical? Exactly how much academic fraud is to be tolerated from parents blinded by religious superstition? When does academic fraud in the form of teaching such pseudoscience as Biblical creationism or Intelligent Design become child abuse?

    • failing to teach? duh! that's the whole point of homeschooling! everyone I know who was home schooled was so BECAUSE their parents didn't want them to learn about evolution. also who cares if these retards don't know jack about science... that leaves the good and important jobs up to those of us with a sincere interest in knowledge and human advancement.

    • Honestly, I think that parent's should be able to homeschool their kids if they want to. However, that doesn't mean that they should expect their kids to get into good colleges or to get into careers that require either a good academic education or an education with a strong scientific background.
