SALT LAKE CITY — Utah’s House majority leader said late Thursday he paid a woman $150,000 to keep silent about going nude “hot-tubbing” with her when she was minor a quarter century ago.

In a shocking statement on the House floor, Kevin Garn, 55, of Layton said he paid her to keep quiet about the incident during his unsuccessful U.S. congressional bid in 2002, but did not have sexual contact with her.

Stories like this bring out the partisan in everyone. I'll admit I'm tempted to bash on the GOP but it's not as if it's indicative of anything. Moral majority types are always hypocrites, typically making up for a past as wretched as their rhetoric.
Like any man is immune to getting into a hot tub naked with a girl, give me a fucking break. By "minor" they mean under the age of consent, which could literally be a month away from 18 and still qualify. And that's of course all assuming that he knew her age and took advantage of her. If he didn't qualify for either of those conditions, should he really be so scorned?
If the picture up there was her, would you feel demeaned? Be honest.
If I had to choose between someone who did shit like this 25 years ago or some piece of shit like Dick Cheney who sends peoples' kids to die for his company, I would gladly take the most sexually deviant man every time. Americans are too sensitive about sexuality and not sensitive enough about violence.
