This is an anti-war video and asks the question why are we in Afghanistan? What purpose does it serve? How long will be in Afghanistan? What are we trying to accomplish?
Much, much more.

    • thanx american soldiers as well they are doing great job and we shouldnt forget two things : we can not blame them , and we should undrestand they also risk their lives and since USA come in afghanistan as an afghan I feel and can smell peace in my homeland is coming ) , and honestly many things change positively in afghanistan americans and afghans i even think meybe will be allies in futur war against iran , since Iran is a real danger and iran help out talibans and indirectly helped al qaeda , so lets first of all study who is really enemy of public.

    • one slap make you feel like defend your nation and send thousand of soldiers in someonce home, but you are lucky you did not recieved all slaps that afghans recieved during our history , and now since you are so smart to answer in such big question with 2 simple words I will have to say , youanswer in our question why afghans hate you ? well becous we recieved slaps from your nation from long time ago, and still love and be thankful toward afghan nation and nice afghan people becous no afghan yet did not decide to take revenge from you, in terorist list you will not find the name of afghans but only arabics , pakis, but afghans meybe you will find but a few and what concern talibans they are not involved in international conflicts they are afghan nationalist groups, and al qaeda are those which crush two planes and their leader is arabic , so if you dont see diference between arabics , and afghans and talibans and al qaeda well you better leave politic and play tetris or something for your level.

and sorry for my poor english since am bilingue only in french.

    • i hate war too, but what i hate more is when extremists fly planes into tall crowded buildings. it's easy to say all war is evil, but when someone's punching you in the face it's stupid and probably even dangerous not to retaliate.

    • This spring as anyone who reads/watches the news knows the entire 10th Mountain Division is heading to Afghanistan followed by the 101st Airborne Division in the summer. I have to believe that what we are doing is for the greater good. I have suffered far to much and lost a part of my humanity that I will never recover. I have seen first hand the gratitude of the Afghan people but I have also witnessed the hatred. Afghanistan isn't called the "Graveyard of Empires" for nothing.

I hate war as only a soldier who has lived it can, only as one who has seen its brutality, its futility, its stupidity. The irony is that war is absolutely necessary for men to live free.

I guess the greater good comes into play by trying to thwart the Taliban who mistreat women and support Alqueda (sic). Alqueda also being the organization that has committed a few acts of terrorism across the planet. If we do not fight this radical form of Islam in Afghanistan, we will have to endure attacks on U.S. soil.

Good and bad is all relative when it comes to war though.

If you think that clearing the way for the building of a pipeline to bring natural gas and oil from the Caspian Sea Basin to Pakistan and India (to major ports on the Arabian Sea) via Afghanistan, to protect the building thereof, and then to protect that pipeline (which implies that we will be keeping soldiers in Afghanistan for decades), is for the greater good, so be it.

I dont doubt for a second that Military Industrial Complex will reap riches from the pacification of Afghanistan but hopefully the Afghan people will get a chance at freedom and democracy.

How is war necessary. You make a lot of ultimatum statements with nothing but pure air to back them up. I'm supposed to believe war is necessary because you say so?

About if I tell you it's absolutely necessary that the human species become extinct for the earth to survive, and that war is one reason why. War isn't necessary for us to survive but it is what will drive us to extinction, and rightfully so.

Thank you for you service to perpetuate evil, to the end of humanity, and to perpetual hell on earth.

Unfortunately, not a fat chance. The US has never brought freedom and democracy to any country, it has only propped-up dictators and régimes who toe the US interests line.

That's the greater good? To decimate an entire culture for a few bad guys who can never be defeated?

What was the greater good for going to Vietnam? To stop the Viet Kong? Did it work? Was it worth the lives of 50,000 U.S. troops and millions of innocent Vietnamese?

How about Iraq? Over a million innocent people killed there for what? Your day will come dickhead.

They will never have any freedom with U.S. troops occupying their country and imposing martial law. Perhaps you'd better define freedom my friend. You have no fucking idea what you're talking about.

I will admit there is a little bit of truth to that statement but I still believe that no matter what certain industrial corporations have planned for Afghanistan, the quality of life for the average Afghan citizen will dramatically improve. Naive, maybe? But it is what I believe.

You claim that I make a lot of statements with nothing but pure air to back them up, what makes your statements anymore truthful then mine. Your insults still amaze me with their bizarre, twisted, hateful yet somehow comical descriptions.

I dont want to sound naive or insincere but I am always truly grateful when someone thanks me for my service. But believe me the honor in serving my country is more rewarding then I could ever properly explain.
