This has been going on for 40 years and will probably not cease until the West Bank has been completely settled or/and Palestinian communities are isolated from each other.

Our relationship with Israel will not end, not before our's or their country is somehow destroyed. "Somehow" might as well be a in a galaxy...far...far...away..with the consolidation of power and resources in our favor. They might as well be Britain, oops I mean the United Kingdom......oohhh I love h0w euphemisms make us forget the cost of "Unity".

The least the Israeli government could do is entertain the U.S., who pays them billions of dollars annually, with serious consideration.

I have not prayed for anythign in a long time, but I pray that we disengage our support of continuing occupation, and war, and pray we bring that financial support home to the US to support people here in America, as our tax dollars are supposed to work...

But one must wonder what holds these kids together. For a long time I think it was collective western guilt over the crimes of WWII that allowed Israel free reign in the Middle East, now I am not sure what the attraction is.

As an Israeli, I have never understood why the U.S. government cares about Israel. I understand what the Israeli government has to gain from American loan guarantees, but cannot understand what the American government gets out of it. This alliance is completely baffling to me.

The relationship that consisted of the US funding Israel to do our dirty black ops work needs to end for peace to be possible. The cold war is over. No one in the middle east is fooled by our proxy, and until we let Israel know we're willing to cut off their funding, they will continue to appease the religious fundamentalists in their country and spread their occupation across Palestine. The US has nothing to gain, nationally or internationally, by supporting the illegal actions of any country, Israel included.

Of course they aren't breaking up.
And if they were to distance themselves, it would never be because of humanitarian reasons like the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Israel is pursuing a very damaging expansion of settlements. There need to be consequences... that is, if we really care about the peace process in Palestine.

This is all a buch of bullshit, I WISH WE WOULD BREAK UP! too bad that won't happen. Sure, they may be our biggest ally in the middle east, but that close relationship is a sticking point for nearly every single other country in the region. Since the gulf war lies, we've been able to keep serious bases and troop presence in Saudi Arabia, and now Iraq and Afghanistan, this is the process of extending empire. The rest of these countries know this, and they are weary of the west, clearly run by a maniacally greedy ruling class, trying to come into their countries to capitalize them, and mcdonaldize them. We say they hate us for our freedom, this is the message we are fed. When truly, many of these countries are freer than we are now. Free to educate their children, free from merciless fast food marketing towards kids, free from mass media bombardment at all times. We think we're free, but controlling people is easy, you simply must control their needs. Soon enough this will all blow over, and we will have bases even deeper in the region, is there already a mc donalds in Tehran? anyone know?

It won't happen. Not to sound arrogant, but the United Sates is a powerful ally and Israel has A LOT of enemies.
