What to do about the Mid-Wife Crisis?

This was a very fascinating read. It's something you think about and hear about, but for me personally, it was not something I found myself devoting much time to. The research about male and female fantasies differing starting in college was particularly poignant; it highlights the divergence of expectation within the sexes when it comes to roles in marriage. I don't think it's necessarily wrong to yearn for the more traditional roles, but with the newer generations, they just have to make sure there is a mutual understanding and no assumptions are being made. Like they said, marriage doesn't take work: it IS work.

Also sad to see that these sort of difficult choices have to be made later in life. No one said it would get easier, I guess.

i think this mostly has to do with people perception of marriage. divorces happen all the time, people dont really take the time to think about whether or not they absolutely want to be with each other.

now people get married as a form of security, and they will only find others who have just about everything; just so that later on in life when they get tired of each other or they want that life on the soap opera they split.

what happened to actually taking the time to build a life together, and really finding out if your supposed to be with one another.

there is no more true love in relationships. only the relationship and the motions.... its sad.

While I don't normally or ever agree with curtisreed poltically, on this topic he is right. Women make out like ass bandits in divorces robbing the man blind.

Picture it: You work hard, put in 20-30 years time in the marriage save you money. Unexpectedly the self-entitled bitch takes your money and leaves because her life isn't like the life females have on soap -operas and sitcoms.

The reason why its because women marry a guy who is good enough not Mr. right. They settle for the first one.

good riddance. now the dude can drink his beer, watch the games, and scratch his nuts in peace.

On a more serious note though...why wouldn't a woman leave a man since the laws are so fucked up they can leave for almost any reason or no reason and get money from him.

Since most people have decided to be self-centered and otherwise pass their time in stupidity, this would include women and therefore not worth the trouble.
