Protesters at Tesco site in Stokes Croft are evicted

Protesters squatting at the former Jesters Comedy Club don't want the building to be turned into a Tesco Express, which they say will take away the areas character and threaten local businesses.

Tesco states, the Express will bring people back in the area and boost local trade.

Though after some reported scuffles the group, who had been in the building since February, were moved out by the police.

    • If you own the building you do what you want with it. I bet most of the protesters don't own shit, but are trying to stop someone else from doing what they want with their property.

    • Nice to see the police doing their bit for the corrupt corporations.
Just goes to show that when you have no money or power- you have no rights.
