Appalling ignorance, lack of "Courage", (even though he unjustifiably claims the name), dimwitted history and moronic misspelling; I rest my case.

He is as stupid as he looks !! Looks like another Dem got bought off, these crooks have no respect for the Democratic Americans that voted them in office. If 100 percent of us were against it, they would still try to vote this in. He promised change and you are getting it, sad thing is we will all pay for this for decades to come, if it don't bankrupt America first. At least you can tell your grand kids and great grand kids you helped destroy the American health system, that every other Country wishes they had. You will get to pay for this for 4 years before you actually get any of the benefits. Socialized medicine at its best. Heck Russia would be smart enough to vote this down !!! Hope you all get voted out of office you SORRY CROOKS !! Send them all straight to prison where they belong, while we can still recognize the America we once loved.

He knows that the alternative is the GOP back in majority in November if this doesn't pass, and then by extension, the presidency in 2012. Then we're really going to be screwed...

We are already really screwed. Democrats and Republicans alike have taken their foreign policies, stupid Keynesian monetary and fiscal policies and done enough damage.
Here's an interesting poll: http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/current_events/healthcar...

We have neem supporting the rest of the world and our wealthiest citizens for so long that some now look on the ability to look out for our own as a sin. It is time we looked to our own for a while and let the rest of the world look to themselves. Frankly I am tired of worrying about who we will insult next by not offering a bribe.

Please vote down what I say (I did), that means more people will read it. You should take a look at this if you think this bill is not friendly towards the big pharma companies: http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/politics/Dems-tap-drugmaker-millions-for-PhRMA...
Here are the highlights...
..."The Obama team regularly dismisses opponents as industry lackeys. The Democratic National Committee blasted out e-mails this week warning that "for every member of Congress, there are eight anti-reform lobbyists swarming Capitol Hill" and "Congress is under attack from insurance lobbyists."
But drug industry lobbyists, according to Politico, spent the weekend "huddled with Democratic staffers" who needed the drug lobby to "sign off" on proposals before moving ahead. Meanwhile, we learn that the drug lobby is buying millions of dollars of ads in 43 districts where a Democratic candidate stands to suffer for supporting the bill. The doctors' lobby and the hospitals' lobby are also on board with the Senate bill....
PhRMA chief Billy Tauzin, who was vilified by Obama on the campaign trail, worked out much of this sweetheart deal in a West Wing meeting with White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. Tauzin visited the White House at least 11 times. He left his imprint so deeply on the current bill that it should probably be called BillyCare rather than ObamaCare...."

Trust me, people will vote your posts down blindly. Their ignorant, unconditional love for this admin and their policies is very strong.
People seem to choose to ignore the fact that the health ins companies want this... why haven't their stocks crashed...? because they're about to get PAID! People act as if we need to get those heartless companies and support this bill... as you too realize, this is the opposite of what will happen.
All I can come up with is that they blindly follow Obama, and when you criticize him, they rate your post down. I thought you rated posts down if they don't contribute to the conversation, but just disagreeing and sticking your fingers in your ears is what society's come to I suppose.BTW: good post

Apparently you haven't been watching what is happening on Wall Street. Insurance stocks took a big dive on Monday when it looked like Health Care Reform would pass.

I think senator Kucinich has something that many American politicians are lacking: courage and love for his country.
Eventually also America gonna have a health care system worthy of a developed western Democracy. - 1 year ago

Why do you think the insurance cos will allow radical changes in the future? With the ease of "financing" politicians, do you honestly think single-payer (or something like it) will actually happen? If you notice, companies "finance" dems and reps, not just one, they want to own either pepsi or coke.

He was holding out for all the right reasons, then sold-out.
Air Force 1 Obama BJs are hard to say no to apparently.
I always considered him something more than a rep or a dem, I figured he needed to attach to a party to get votes, how ignorant of me. He's just another goddamn democrat.I don't buy the idea that "this is a stepping stone to single payer". This will make the already out of control insurance companies even richer and more powerful than before. The more powerful the industry, the more politicians you can buy.

You stereotype those who disagree with Obama, and I'm the one who's narrow minded? With your assumptions and stereotypes mentioned above, I assume you think I'm a republican. Typical American, only thinking in the 2 party system mode you've been brainwashed into believing in. A belligerant puppet? Who's the puppet master? I formulate my own opinions without the aide of talking heads.
I'm considering the fact that people blindly follow Obama and don't read the bill that's about to pass. Forcing Americans to buy ins from companies that their business is to deny claims is insane! You speak to me as if I don't understand basic economics, while you ignore the fact that everyone will be forced to buy (for the first time in history) private insurance from the same people who have fucked up health in this country for decades. Why should we trust them now? They have the $ to hire lawyers to find loophole, there are always loopholes.
You cannot deny that there are those who believe Obama can do no wrong. Sorry I'm not one of those conservatives who just stick their fingers in their ears when Obama speaks, and deem him wrong. I just feel he's a failure, and this halfass reform is proof of that. Meanwhile he's proved to have bullshitted on his campaign promises. Just another politician... no better than the rest. When he says things like this will make or break me, I am reminded he's just another politician worried about the next election. - 1 year ago

dadada another one bites the dust.
All we wanted was an up or down vote on a medi-care buy in for low income people Dennis.
I can't believe you're giving in.
I've lost all hope of a bright future.
Kucinich was the one guy who I thought had some convictions.
What do they have on him I wonder?

It is hard for me to swallow incrementalism ... but I imagine this was the toughest decision of his political career. Unfortunately, the way this 2-headed monster is set up, the Left will always be guilty of choosing the lesser of 2 evils. I just can't see any leader in this position - especially one with such strong ideals - casting a vote that would lead to any more pain and suffering.

Agreed. Something has to give and even if it is not an ideal start, a start is required. I admire for DK for his fight but when it comes right down to it, doing nothing is not an option.

I like Dennis. If he feels that this is the best deal possible for the time, with an eye to future changes, I trust his judgment on this. Passage of this bill, imperfect and compromised as it may be, may also be the event that solidifies the progressive resurgence in US governance.
