News: Where was Fox News when we were spending $9 billion a month on the Iraq War?

Fox News never uttered a word when the Bush administration was spending $9 billion a month on the Iraq War and Bill O'Reilly once said when you've seen one roadside bombing you've seen them all. Now Fox news is going ballistic over what they perceive as the cost to provide 33 million Americans with health care insurance.

I find it amazing the gall of Bill O'Really who never misses a chance to show some scantily-clad girl during the course of his show and feigns disgust without ever thinking there are vast majority of us who know he had to pay one of his female producers thousands of dollars to keep her from releasing audio sex tapes when he would call her from his shower and suggest all kinds of things he would like to do to her and her to do to him.

good point, but i think cheney had first dibs on the oil. and i would never suggest any collusion between Fox and the Bush white house....but we should not forget the former
member of fox news who quit, and publically disclosed that Rove sent a list of 'talking points' to fox daily, that they wanted to see covered.

    • I don't actually worry too much about Fox..it's about the money..that part I get...what worries me is the herd of dimwits that cannot discern the difference between the New York Times, and The Enquirer.....and takes what is spoken by the bots on Fox as having some truth attached to it...those are the nimrods that have me concerned.

    • Propaganda works in amazing ways. This whole msnbc vs. FOX thing has really divided Americans. What's impressive is, that this type of propaganda has divided millions of us into TWO somewhat equal groups. WTF: All of our issues; our diverse cultures, with diverse ideology; all of our disagreements. How can there just be TWO sides. One side will always be "wrong".

Where do you see an excuse..as if one is even required? What I see is a cost comparison..you are free to make the call as to which of the two expenditures you feel are the more beneficial to the American public. I personally think that the better choice is health care..you clearly favor war.
So yes current never changes it's a forum for individual expression and idea comparison...you present your views, I express mine and the the people who read this can draw their own conclusion as to which point of view is the more rational...is there some problem with that format?

It's not /just/ Obama. Every single president since I've been alive was blowing fat wads of cash in some way or another.

It isn't THAT they are blowing tons of money, it is WHAT they are blowing it on.

Didn't think it was that complicated.

If you want to spend money like it grows on printing presses at least spend it on the health and education of your citizens.

Everything else is secondary. An extremely distant second.

    • Mention Fox News and the leftist go apoplectic as easily witnessed here. . . now why is that?
Do you suppose that they are threatened by a agency of information that doesn't faithfully chronicle news as they (leftist big 3 msm - and a few other cable news networks) see fit to hypothesize as truth, so it just has to be a lie, right?

    • There seems to be a lot of bashing against Fox News. Did they offend everybody? I always thought flipping the channel would solve the problem of me disagreeing with something...

Anyways whoever posted this needs to read the 2100+ page health care bill again. the 940+ billion in ten years is accurate at a statistical standpoint. It doesn't include inflation, more coverage of people (because who can imagine more people in the world in a decade, it's unfathomable), cost of research and improved technology, etc.etc.

Oh and it doesn't give healthcare coverage to EVERY SINGLE PERSON in america. Has no one thought of the idea that some do not wish to have health care coverage? Or the fact that several abuse their coverage? What's the point of giving insurance to somebody who doesn't want to live healthy? That's like giving car insurance to a teenager who keeps wrecking his or her vehicle...defeats the purpose of insurance. If you don't agree with me, go do some research on economy 101 and basis of insurance.

    • Are you suggesting that Fox's tagline of "Fair and Balanced" isn't necessarily accurate?

Excuse me for a moment while I collect myself. This challenges my entire way of thinking...

    • DUH! War is sacred and the military is all that matters--and killing terrorists is what the government is supposed to be doing. Who cares about taking care of needs of the rest of the population who is too old or too young or too gay to be in the military?

It never dawned on me that I was a racist and homophobic--I thought we were discussing reasons why Glenn Beck et al. at Fox News gave George W. and friends a pass on spending billions on a war they started to cover up the fact they wanted to control the oil market and used the "war on terror" to be able to "legally" kill anybody who was not white, male, and heterosexual and the hypocrisy with which they now complain its bad policy and "communist/socialist/Nazi-ist" for our ELECTED government to spend ANY money in caring for the people (who aren't in the military) and who actually live here in the U.S. and pay their taxes and don't commit acts of terrorism or can't afford to lobby their congressman while working to pay their rent, their food bill, and their insurance premiums at the same time.
