The U.S. government’s plan to rapidly grow the ranks of Afghan police officers has run into a shortage of instructors and training camps, prompting U.S. and NATO officials to cut basic training for Afghan recruits from eight weeks to six.

This is a tremendous mistake by the U.S. Government. Almost each and every encounter I ever had with the Afghan Police was a joke. In the outlaying provinces they are cruel, corrupt, criminal organizations. Opening engaging in the drug trade (which is the worst kept secret in Afghanistan). Terrorizing the people though extortion, rape, beatings and the stealing and re-selling of U.N supplied food and medicine. Fucking jokers. On the other hand many of the Afghan National Army is at least attempting to be a professional armed force but they have benefited from prolonged training by the U.S. Army. You can't trust those fcukers! Trust me!
