the source: from wikipedia: "Debbie Schlussel ... is an American ... blogger who focuses particularly on Islam and American Muslims. Her writing frequently targets the largely Muslim population of Detroit suburb, Dearborn, Michigan, which she refers to as "Dearbornistan". Her columns are often provocative and controversial, specifically those detailing what she considers the unsavory elements of Islam and objectionable activities of American Muslims, illegal immigrants and liberal & faux-”conservative” politicians."

      I checked out their 990 for 2008:

Total expenses reported below are sometimes split between "PROGRAM SVC EXPENSES", "MANAGEMENT & GENERAL EXPENSES" & "FUNDRAISING EXPENSES" - I split up payroll into the three areas as an example:

      GRANTS TO INDIVIDUALS: $1,370,063

      TOTAL COMPENSATION: $457,000 ($342,750 PROGRAM; $22,850 MGT & GEN, $91,400 FUNDRAISING)

      OTHER SALARIES/WAGES: $764,351 ($620,099 PROGRAM; $64,383 MGT & GEN; $79,869 FUNDRAISING)

      PENSION PLAN CONTRIBUTIONS: $28,103

      OTHER EMPLOYEE BENEFITS $99,693

      PAYROLL TAXES: $87,258

TOTAL FEE FOR SERVICES: $771,847 (NONEMPLOYEES - MGT, LEGAL, ACCOUNTING, PROFESSIONAL FUNDRAISING, INVESTMENT MGT FEES, "OTHER:$512,973")

      ADVERTISING/PROMOTION - $16,016

      OFFICE EXPENSES - $48,109

      OCCUPANCY - $172,521

      TRAVEL - $157,041

      CONVENTIONS/CONFERENCES/MEETINGS -$ 231,870

      INTEREST - $53,761

      DEPRECIATION, DEPLETION, AMORTIZATION - $23,167

      INSURANCE - $10,945

      POSTAGE/DELIVERY - $1,055,791

      PRINTING/REPRODUCTION - $925,392

      LIST RENTAL - $236,614

      CONSULTING $96,731

      STUDENT UNIFORMS/TRAINING GEAR - $33,434

      ALL OTHER EXPENSES - $106,010

      TOTAL FUNCTIONAL EXPENSES - $6,745,717

This is something a lot of nonprofits do that they are not suppose to:

      Misc. expenses - line 24 = $2,453,972
      Total expenses - line 25 = $6,745,717
(Expenses grouped together and labeled miscellaneous may not exceed 5% of total expenses shown on line 25 below)

Basically, they only gave out $1.37 million in grants - the rest went to paying salaries, taxes, consultants, costs of running the office, fundraising costs, etc. - I would not call that very efficient, but who am I to judge?

Then where did the 19,XXX,XXX in the bank come from??? You failed to talk about the invested assets and interest it's earned.... and, if it's an endowment fund that pays tuition..it does it slowly over time... each year.. so much a year for various kids tuitions ....would it not??? Just asking.... then again, if there WAS dirt here, Obama's AG would be on Hannity like white on rice!!! Funny... don't SEE any feds busting him do you??? ZZZZZZZZ!

I suspect they have better things to do than bust up Hannity's nonprofit. Besides, like I said, a lot of nonprofits are guilty of this - unless the IRS is willing to go after all nonprofits, they would be acting against Hannity's nonprofit for political reasons. There is an IRS form 13909 that you can file anonymously reporting nonprofits to the IRS - if enough of them were filed, the IRS would have a non-political reason to investigate. Go forth and file...

These are the guys who run it, direct it etc.... nowhere do I see Sean Hannity's name on it. So, other than him "promoting" events, how does this tie into HIM ripping off anyone??? I see a lot of people who don't like the guy ripping on him, for what so far would get tossed out of court in an instant!! The guy has no access to the funds..... and as he is not a director cannot spend them. So how DOES he pull of this magical feat???? And why the "conspiracy" by all who hate him... to "let him off"???? Yeah right... B.S.!!

Call me when some REAL evidence of anything shows up.... this is a JOKE!!

    • And this is news? I mean come on now--its a shocker! Some fairly conservative leaning guy with an over-inflated ego and sense of self-importance decided he would set up a charity, solicit donations, and then keep most of the money raised for himself.

Sounds like an Indiana Congressman I know of, But of course he also told me personaly five days after 9/11 that there was no intent to wage war in Iraq. Knew better than that and noticed that he was itching to go to Iraq five weeks later.

"Republicans have as one of their core principles "what's mine is mine" and "greed is good".

Am I to take it your belief is "What's mine (Hanks) is yours to take??? That's what you are implying....

And 2... "Greed is Good"... hmmm...
I work, I earn, I build something with my own work.... and.. YOU want it??? And I may not feel to inclined to just hand it over to YOU.....and you have a PROBLEM with that???? is that your stand?
      Explain yourself here too.......

And no, I'm not a card carrying Republican... they lost me when they forgot what "conservative" means....

As to Hannity.... if it's true, burn him. If he's been a fraud, crucify him. he'd deserve it. No mercy or those posers anymore, be they right OR left...
i'm fair both ways.... and right now, BOTH suck.. but the Left is sucking harder at the moment!!!

maybe UtopianSky just doesn't have such vain principles as his CORE. your assumptions are based on falty logic. clearly what's mine is mine as long as i keep it and greed is good for the greedy. i dought anyone wants your shit, or is gonna take it; except for the greedy. weather you earned it, got lucky, or w/e...the greedy would care; is greed good??

Well this is what i'm trying to get defined!!! Seems some think those of us who work and earn our keep are a source of limitless pockets to be taxed to give to those who don't. THAT I find "faulty logic"... charity giving is cool....thats how the people got thru the Great Depression..... but you are not "owed" or "entitled" to shit!! Do a lookback on the comments made when WORKFARE was brought up!!! Got no problem helping the disabled, or giving those on hard times a break...but I do NOT see paying people who do nothing.... for years..... God "helps those who help themselves" the saying goes... and that's not a bad Idea. Hard times... give people a stake to get them going again.. fine. But Government isn't peoples daddy... and shouldn't be run to every time people want something!

    • I remember about a year ago when he said that he would be waterboarded on his show. Donating a $1000.00 to the veterans for every second he lasted. This dude is so full of shit! I would love to just walk up to the guy and punch him square in the face. Ha Ha.

    • Why are they upset?
Republicans have as one of their core principles "what's mine is mine" and "greed is good". They should applaud him as a shining example of getting richer off of the misery of others.

You are so correct and maybe there might be some rumblings from the real Republicans that I could get along with not so long ago. I think they too are getting upset with cheap trick current Repugnant party for all of it's misery brought to the world.
