The maverick and the rogue teamed up one more time in Mesa on Saturday to rally support for Sen. John McCain’s re-election campaign and slam President Barack Obama’s landmark health-care overhaul.

When not sparring with hecklers, Sarah Palin, the former Alaska governor and best-selling “Going Rogue” author, heaped praise on McCain’s “maverick” Republican style.
Palin called her former 2008 presidential running mate “a man of honor,” “a man of faith” and “a man of the people” who isn’t afraid to “shake things up in Washington” and fight corruption and wasteful pork-barrel spending in Congress.

    • I love how she says that John McCain fought to give him the right to protest after seeing him drug out for protesting!

    • Has anyone noticed that when someone shouts something at a conservative event they are dragged away in handcuffs? Also they are given a bruise or two to re-enforce the un -invitatoin. When some one spouts nonsense at a town hall meeting about health care the speaker usually tells everyone else to let them speak.

Ya. Well apparently that works. We should do it too.

See the problem with always turning the other cheek is in a sound-bite world, they get to use those tactics against us. Yes, we are the good guys but if we allow them to control media and tactics while we're turning the other cheek, we embolden the terrorists.

I'm also wondering what security team was that ? Police ? Special Brown Shirts ? We can come up with shirts too.

So, in case of a heckler, we're simply removing perpetrators "for their own safety", and charging them with inciting a riot. A few bumps and bruises, well boys with be boys, and we were ensuring the safety of the event at any rate.

We must do this otherwise let's say you have a non-Repug giving a speach/townhall/whatever and they give a GREAT one only to have a heckler. What do you think the news will carry, knowing they have 10 secs to the story. Ya, video of the heckler calling Obama a babykiller.

Repuglicans know this and is precisely why they do it. They then make a point of beating the shit out of whoever they catch doing it to them as an example to dissuade others from trying it.

But on our end, we're a peaceful bunch so they heckle at will. Safely. No more please.

      Take 'em down.

    • She is the best thing going for the democratic party. When she runs in 2012, she'll be able to deflect enough votes off the Republican presidential candidiates so that they won't stand a snowball's chance in hell of beating the Democrats in 2012

Not yet, but if there is I can still vote for the Democrat in the general election while registered as a Republican. Meanwhile, I can stop Hayworth early in the primaries. Hayworth is nuttier than Sarah Palin.

    • Hell has frozen over. I'll be registering Republican to vote for McCain to prevent Hayworth from taking over. I can't believe I agree with Sarah Palin, but stranger things have happened.

      Somewhere, somehow, perhaps.

LOL, surely, an off chance, the universe is large after all.

There's a saying where I'm from, "even a broken squirrel finds a ... twice ..." wait, "there's a clock that is broken ... with an acorn ... no ... if you see a blind squirrel, twice a day ... uhm ... fool me, you can't fool me again ... is what I'm saying.

Imagine if a tea party member were assaulted at an opposing event. It would be on FOX news as outrage. He was assaulted, he should press charges for being hit. He should be able to voice his opinion without violence. That is all that the republicans are good for...violence
