Well, this is quite an idea if you really think about it. The mega box store (Wal Mart) taking on Whole Foods in the organic food realm. Although I must say that this seems to be a better step in the right direction there is still a HUGE gap in how Americans view food.
We are still very disconnected with where and how our food is grown and produced. It's a sad state of affairs when it costs more to go to a grocery store and purchase fresh produce along with grains and meats; then go home and cook it yourself versus eating a meal from a fast food joint.
Eating fresh, organic and healthy food is a good chunk of the equation but the even larger chunk comes down to eating locally produced food. The amount of energy it takes to get any/all food to a grocery store is incredible. Check out the definition of FOOD MILES to learn more.
This spring and summer check our your local farmers market and buy healthy local produce/food which supports the "small guy" and the local economy.
