I don't know if I would generalize about Georgia, Atlanta is home to one of the largest, most "out" GLBT communities outside of NY and San Fran. I know first hand about the South being behind on certain issues, but the school superintendent, representing the state of Georgia, approved him bringing his date unlike the girl from Mississippi the article mentions.

Yes, parents throwing their children out of their homes because of the way they were born IS unnatural.

Luckily, more and more people are being educated, and unnatural acts like those bigoted parents have done are fewer and fewer between.

I have been watching the Real World Series and Mike is a great guy. Its Mikes Boyfriend that had the problem with his Parents. I haven't heard what happened to them after the show.
