Republican National Committee Spent Almost $2,000 At S&M Strip Club

Records show the Republican National Committee dropped $1,946 at a West Hollywood, Calif. strip club last month, but a spokesperson insisted that RNC chairman Michael Steele was not among the ooglers.
"The chairman was never at the location in question, he had no knowledge of the expenditure, nor does he find the use of committee funds at such a location at all acceptable," said RNC spokeswoman Doug Heye, who added that the committee was investigating the expenditure.
Records filed with the Federal Election Commission show the RNC picked up the hefty tab at Voyeur West Hollywood, a high-end strip club that has hosted such notables as bad girl Lindsay Lohan and supermodel Heidi Klum.
In a review last October, the Los Angeles Times said the bar's "dark, leather-heavy interior is reminiscent of the masked orgy scene" in "Eyes Wide Shut," the 1999 Stanley Kubrick film starring Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman.
The club features a heavy net suspended above the lounge area where topless performers - dressed in little more than masks and bikini-bottoms - writhe above the heads of clubgoers, the paper reported.
"Even more provocative scenes," the paper added, "are played out in an enclosed glass booth area adjacent to the club's dance floor area."
The kinky costs come at a time when Steele is already under fire from many within the GOP for his high-flying ways.
He recently took some heat for moving the RNC annual meeting from Washington, D.C. to Hawaii.
And one recent analysis by Politico.com found that compared with 2005, the last comparable year preceding a midterm election, RNC spending on private jets had doubled, limo trips had tripled, and meal expenses jumped from $306,000 to $599,000.
The RNC has still managed to out-raise the Democratic National Committee during most recent months, records show. But the DNC was more than happy to express a little mock outrage yesterday over the the RNC's latest expenditures.
"If limos, chartered aircraft and sex clubs are where they think their donors money should be spent - who are we to judge?" jabbed DNC spokesman Brad Woodhouse. "But it shouldn't give voters much confidence in Republicans when they say they want to get back in charge of federal spending."

Maybe I should rethink being a young democratic donor. Seems like being a young republican donor has better perks. All I got as a democrat was health insurance. As a republican I get a gay marriage ban so I can continue to enjoy lesbian fettishistic bondage clubs outside of my own monogamous relationship with no moral consequences. I mean come on Democrats step it up or your going to loose my generation!

GOP Fires Staffer Over $1,946 Topless Club Visit
WASHINGTON — The Republican National Committee has fired a staffer who helped organize a $1,946 visit last month to a sex-themed Hollywood club, and the GOP says it will recoup the money from a donor who also participated.
The episode is the latest in a string of questionable spending by the RNC as Republicans prepare for a costly election season in which they hope to take dozens of House and Senate seats from Democrats.
An RNC internal memo says the Feb. 4 outing to Voyeur West Hollywood involved several members of the "Young Eagles" GOP group who had been in Los Angeles for a meeting. An unnamed staffer, who had been warned that such activities did not qualify for reimbursement, has been fired, said the memo from RNC lawyer Ken McKay.
The club features topless dancers and bondage outfits.
RNC spokesman Doug Heye said the committee will be reimbursed by Erik Brown of Orange, Calif., the donor-vendor who billed the GOP for the club visit on behalf of the attendees.
Brown did not respond to an e-mail and phone message seeking comment.
Since November, the RNC has paid Brown's company, Dynamic Marketing Inc., about $19,000 for printing and direct-mail services, campaign spending reports show. He has contributed several thousand dollars to the party.
The most recent financial disclosure report said the RNC spent more than $17,000 for private planes in February and nearly $13,000 for car services. Heye said such services are used only when needed.
McKay's memo says the RNC is committed to using donors' funds efficiently and responsibly.
The $1,946 for meals at Voyeur West Hollywood was the most eye-catching item in the monthly report. RNC Chairman Michael Steele, whose spending decisions have angered some donors in this midterm election year, had nothing to do with the nightclub expenditure, Heye said.
The conservative group Concerned Women for America said the RNC should disclose more about the episode.
"Did they really agree to reimburse nearly $2,000 for a bondage-themed night club?" group president Penny Nance asked in a statement. "Why would a staffer believe that this is acceptable, and has this kind of thing been approved in the past?"
Much of the most lavish spending by the major political parties is associated with fundraisers, which often target wealthy people.
The RNC spent $144,549 for rooms at the Four Seasons Resort in Jackson Hole, Wyo., in 2009. On March 19, 2009, it spent $31,980 for catering by the Breakers Palm Beach in Florida.
The RNC paid $18,361 over the past several months to the "Tiny Jewel Box" in Washington for "office supplies," which may have included trinkets or gifts for big donors. It spent $13,622 at Dylan's Candy Bar in New York City.
Some Republican officials and donors have complained about Steele's spending decisions, saying the party should devote every available dollar to trying to win House and Senate races this fall. He held this year's four-day winter meeting at a beachfront hotel in Hawaii, although it often takes place in Washington.
Some donors grumbled when Steele spent more than $18,000 to redecorate his office. Steele, a former Maryland lieutenant governor, also has received substantial fees for making speeches, even though the RNC pays him a full-time salary.
Steele's supporters say he has brought a refreshing frankness and energy to the party's leadership. - 2 years ago

Think about it, where better can the Religious Right go to learn about turning the other cheek than to a stripper bar? Seriously people, every where you turn there are turned cheeks sliding up and down on poles.
Again "Turn the Other Cheek, 101"...
Education ain't cheap people.
In this case tuition and lab fees at U of V (University of Voyeur) was at least: $1946.
I guess they may have looked at it as a part of the new education funding programs.
Sort of a Pell Grant I guess. For your educational funding needs go to The Bank of RNC. - 2 years ago

There was this article I read a long time ago, where they interviewed prostitutes in the cities of the Democratic National Convention and the Republican National Convention.
Across the board the prostitutes at the GOP convention said they were far more in demand, and doing a whole lot more work.
Not that the Democrats were not having extramarital sex- it's just they were having affairs with each other, not with hookers.

RNC Says Member Will Return $2,000 Reimbursed for Visit to Bondage Club
he Republican National Committee say it's getting back nearly $2,000 that it reimbursed to a member for a night out at a bondage-themed night club in West Hollywood.
Doug Heye, a spokesman for the RNC, on Monday would not say who the donor was, but announced the committee got a commitment that the cash would be returned.
"The RNC has not only requested that that money that was sent out as a reimbursement be repaid by the member but we've got the commitment that will be done," Heye told Fox News.
Earlier in the day, Heye issued a statement after the Daily Caller reported that the organization reimbursed a member $1,946 for a February trip to Voyeur, a risque nightclub recently featured in The Los Angeles Times as the new hotspot.
"I don't know the person specifically. I know there are a lot of (Federal Election Commission) reports that people are going through trying to determine that. I just know from a conversation I had with a colleague that we got a commitment that that money will be returned," he said.
"We're still trying to determine who was there," Heye said.
An RNC source told Fox News the donor's name is Erik Brown but Heye would not confirm that. Brown, a direct mail operator based in California, tweeted in October that he was watching a Redskins game with RNC Chairman Michael Steele at FedEx Field.
Heye said he was incensed by the suggestion in a post in the Daily Caller that Steele took part in the February outing to the club. The article led with Steele's expenses on charter aircraft and the suggestion by an unnamed source that he was looking for the RNC to buy an airplane to accommodate his travel.
"Michael Steele was not there. He didn't know about it. He wouldn't have known about it," Heye said.
The report noted that the RNC spent $17,514 on private aircraft and $12,691 on limousines in the month of February, according to Federal Election Commission filings. Recent travel expenses also included $9,099 spent at the Beverly Hills Hotel, $6,596 dropped at the Four Seasons in Los Angeles and nearly $20,000 combined for the Venetian and the M Resort in Las Vegas and the W in Washington.
Heye said the article was misleading because it did not distinguish Steele's expenses from finance and fundraising expenses associated with the purpose of the travel. He added that the story "willfully and erroneously suggests" that Steele was at the club.
"The chairman was never at the location in question, he had no knowledge of the expenditure, nor does he find the use of committee funds at such a location at all acceptable. ... Good reporting would make that distinction crystal clear," Heye said in his statement.
After the rebuke, Jonathan Strong, the reporter who wrote the Daily Caller article, told MSNBC that he never said Steele was at Voyeur, but "I hope to find out whether that's the case in the coming days."
Daily Caller founder Tucker Carlson also offered a statement. "To be clear: We did not claim that Michael Steele personally visited Voyeur West Hollywood. In fact, and unfortunately, we still know almost nothing about that trip, including its purpose. If the RNC provides details, we’ll put them on the site immediately."
An article in the Los Angeles Times, written after the club's opening in October, said the club's owners drew their inspiration from Stanley Kubrick's film "Eyes Wide Shut." The film stars Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman as a New York power couple whose marriage is jeopardized after the husband gets involved in a bondage club.

Wrong. The president proposes the budget and congress votes on it. That's the process...and yes, Clinton did balance the budget.
1993 balanced budget package:
"The great budget battle finally ended in August, with the passage of Clinton's economic plan. In the end, not a single Republican voted for the balanced budget package. It squeaked through the House by one vote, and Vice President Gore in his official role as President of the Senate had to vote to break a 50-50 vote tie. Several courageous Democrats, who did what they believed to be in America's long-term interests, lost in the next election." - 2 years ago

Again...if you read the link I posted, you would have seen that this is addressed. Balancing the budget and eliminating the National Debt are two different things. Here's what is says:
Update, Feb. 11: Some readers wrote to us saying we should have made clear the difference between the federal deficit and the federal debt. A deficit occurs when the government takes in less money than it spends in a given year. The debt is the total amount the government owes at any given time. So the debt goes up in any given year by the amount of the deficit, or it decreases by the amount of any surplus. The debt the government owes to the public decreased for a while under Clinton, but the debt was by no means erased.
Other readers have noted a USA Today story stating that, under an alternative type of accounting, the final four years of the Clinton administration taken together would have shown a deficit. This is based on an annual document called the "Financial Report of the U.S. Government," which reports what the governments books would look like if kept on an accrual basis like those of most corporations, rather than the cash basis that the government has always used. The principal difference is that under accrual accounting the government would book immediately the costs of promises made to pay future benefits to government workers and Social Security and Medicare beneficiaries. But even under accrual accounting, the annual reports showed surpluses of $69.2 billion in fiscal 1998, $76.9 billion in fiscal 1999, and $46 billion for fiscal year 2000. So even if the government had been using that form of accounting the deficit would have been erased for those three years.
It comes down to Deficit vs. Debt. Some people, I call them hacks, try to diminish Clinton's accomplishment by purposely confusing the two, or by suggesting we use a different accounting measures in Clinton's case. They do this to prop up the myth that Republicans are the fiscally disciplined ones. Of course the easiest way to put truth to that lie is to look at what happened to the billions of dollars of surplus under Clinton once Bush got into office.

Wise up people, politicians play the game of manipulating your mind -- the game is to create enemies of morality in order to get attention and therefor, elected. Behind the scenes, many politicians behave in ways that would make Motley Crue cringe. Corporations control the politicians, and that is who they serve.
