Elections: The view on the streets

worldwrite
Who will you vote for? In the run-up to the UK elections, as the government panics over voter apathy, WORLDbytes volunteers check out public opinion on the streets of London. This snap shot provides some interesting insights. A surprising number do intend to vote but the lack of enthusiasm is obvious. Some feel the elections will change little. Others say politicians are out of touch and MPs no longer represent our hopes and aspirations for the future. So, does voting now mean putting a tick in a box as a duty? One contributor suggests we need young people to stand for election and get rid of the old brigade

    • I would vote for the party that has the balls to say we need to print our own money so that we can control our wealth and not be in debt to a private bank, and the one that says they will withdraw the troops from iraq and afghanistan and have them back home where they belong, but alas none of the candidates have said this, so therefore i simply cant vote!

You can stand for election yourself...that's the magical thing about democracies. Being elected may be rather unmagical however, and a tad out of reach.

I'm also confused what you mean about 'private bank'? And the difference between quantitative easing and printing money isn't too vast, considering it is buying basicallyu unsellable assets to get the cash flow flowing around again.

    • Is anyone anywhere excited by the elections? This lot seem fairly representative & better than the usual sound bite stuff.

i'm beginning to get excited about the elections, although i'm not excited about any of the main candidates. i think if one of the three said that they would pull out british troops from afghanistan, put a stop to city bonuses and provide free fast broadband for the country, i'd be REALLY excited.
