Mike Shanklin & Dr Tom Woods On Federal Reserve, Obama/Bush, Tea Parties, GSEs, Ron Paul…

shanklinmike
I got a chance to pull Dr Tom Woods to the side for a short interview before he spoke at Campbell University’s Adam Smith Club Banquet. We discussed the Federal Reserve, Economics, Competing Currencies, the Tea Parties, Neoconservatism, Libertarianism, Anarcho-Capitalism, Ron Paul, Bush, Obama, GSEs like Freddie Mac & Fannie Mae and the two party (one party) voting system.

    • You can't control government and make it do what's right, every new government program soon wanders from its original purpose, politicians eventually misuse the power you give them, it is inevitable that no government program will deliver on the promises the politicians make for it. - Great video.

    • Government is force. Every government program, law, or regulation is a demand that someone do what he doesn't want to do, refrain from doing what he does want to do, or pay for something he doesn't want to pay for. And those demands are backed up by police with guns.

The polluter doesn't want to be "forced" to stop contaminating my drinking water -- but I am grateful that the government "forces" him to stop via the EPA.

The mugger doesn't want to be "forced" to stop mugging people -- but I am grateful that the government "forces" him to stop via the police.

The CEO doesn't want to be "forced" to list the actual vale of its companies investment portfolio -- but I am grateful the the government "foces" the CEO to do it so I have accurate information via the FTC.

The apartment manager doesn't want to be "forced" rent to African Americans because he is racist -- but I am grateful that the government "forces" the apartment manager to do it via the Fair Housing Act and the Civil Rights Bill.

So the bottom line is the majority of people bitching about the government "forcing" them todo things are people who are trying to do destructive things that ruin the community and the nation in most cases. Not all, but most cases.
