Many biotechnology stocks fell on Tuesday as investors struggled to understand the impact of a ruling that threw out parts of two gene patents and called into question thousands more.

    • All I can say is that the idea of patenting things in nature is a legal starry dasis; settled law.

      The decision was the right one.

    • While I am not really up on gene and DNA patents, it amazes me that anyone can legally patent a human, as genes and DNA is what makes us.
      We only think we own ourselves until we find out if it isn't the IRS, it's the damn pharmacuticals.
