Scientists believe the almost-complete fossilised skeleton belonged to a previously-unknown type of early human ancestor that may have been a intermediate stage as ape-men evolved into the first species of advanced humans, Homo habilis.

The "missing link" stuff is misleading.
Unless you have every generation for every human being stretching back forever, you always have a "missing link."
What they found is another ancestor filling in another spot on the timeline, which they have hundreds of.
But the idea that there is a "missing link" between man and apes that has yet to be found is silly. Mainly because we ARE apes.
