Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is plotting a new massive job-killer that the American people can’t afford

Abandoning all loyalty to the democratic processes this nation holds dear, President Obama has made the decision that getting energy tax legislation through Congress with the approval of the American people is just too much of a pain to bother with. Instead he will have the EPA declare as early as next week that CO2 is a dangerous global warming gas and will start regulating its emissions immediately.

    • A video from FOX news made in a bar? And we are supposed to take this SERIOUSLY???? LMAO!!!!!

Here is what you can take seriously. We already import roughly 75% of our petroleum from overseas. It is causing immense ecological damage due to spills and pollution. It is causing immense damage to the economy and the value of US currency due to balance of trade deficits. It is causing enormous political and social damage by sending money to places where it eventually finds its way into the hands of Muslim extremists. It causes high taxes and directly contributes to the death of American military personnel as a root cause of two wars and terrorist actions.

All for something we have no need for. We can drive our vehicles with natural gas and biofuels completely petroleum free. And we can do it right now, with technology that is available right now, in manufacture and on the market right now, at about the same price as the vehicles we are using right now.

We can drive our vehicles on natural gas pollution free, at about 1/2 the cost of driving them on petroleum.

We can generate electricity with natural gas, without the pollution or environmental destruction of coal. Natural gas does not come from strip mines. You can't strip mine a gas.

Natural gas is the cheapest form of energy we have. And we have a LOT of it.

I say, put a $200 a barrel import tax on petroleum. Then use the funds raised to pay off the national debt. If the Fox News anchors in the bar don't want to pay the taxes on petroleum----they can either get a bi-fuel engine car that can run on methane(natural gas), or, they can keep on using petroleum and pay off the national debt for the rest of us. If they'd like to keep using petroleum and pay off the national debt---I'd be happy to send them a thank you note. I suspect however, they'd much rather keep on drinking the ethanol instead of putting it in their fuel tank.

    • If we raise a carbon tax and do away with subsidies for big oil and coal, the prices will rise dramatically and new entrepenures will arise to fill the void left by overpriced energy sources. This is the ultimate in capitalism, let the market prevail. We who understand the dynamics also know it will not come without hardship or pain. But nothing in life come easy, one must work for it. talk the talk walk the walk but keeping ones head in the sand will do nothing to end the monopoly that oil and coal now enjoy. Obama is not owned by anyone, he actually does understand these dynamics and believes that the rise in prices will spur new development in new energy tecnologies.

Do you remeber lead in gas? The disincentive to use lead came from government intrusion in the form of hefty fines for oil companies that did not conform. Or aerosols that were contributing to ozone depletion, same deal. Sorry shankman you are totally clueless on how a government makes industry do the right thing when they choose.

    • Let's put this all to rest. Both parties are owned by the banks. Arguing along party lines is infantile. I sat in on a J.P. Morgan Chase meeting Oct. 15, 2009. Stu Schweitzer was hired to speak at this event. Mr. Schweitzer enlightened the crowd of Chase Bank exclusive executives, the event organizer, about a dozen illegal immigrants serving the food and myself. I was hired to be the photographer for the event and was ordered to basically a broom closet when the speech began. I left the 'closet' and went around to the balcony where I was separated by glass but could take pictures and hear the discussion. Mr. Schweitzer informed the crowd that in 2010 they could again return for the yearly event at the exclusive resort in Utah. Last year, however, they were forced to hold the event in a five star hotel in Times Square. Laughter filled the room with this inside joke. He then stated that the only reason they did that was because the public was watching and they couldn't admit that they had the money available. You see, he explained there was never any need to bail out the banks, they had money. This was all worked out by the government. Additionally, he explained, there would be no recovery, at least not for the middle class. The goal for the company now is to work with large companies and real estate. This, he says, is why the term jobless recovery is being used. The companies and the banks would recover, not that the banks were in trouble, everyone laughs, but the middle class will not.

Take that how you want to, but I was there and have the photographs to show. This is why I am so sure that this administration is heading the same direction as the last. This is a blatant attempt to bankrupt the country to force us to accept world government, period. I have been holding back on releasing this information until the employer that hired me to shoot the event had enough time to get paid and clear the project.

Yeah well i think you are full of shit. Lets see some of your so called proof as in pics and names.

Yeah name the event and the people and I will double check your statement.

This should only take a few minutes if yoiu are not lying.

Also if you are trying to use this as your evidence for your point then you can not try to argue that you cant show these pictures or info because it has to do with your work otherwise anyone can use lies to prove nonsense.

      Good luck Monkey man...........

      http://news.webshots.com/album/575132381CTzude

I can't seem to get photos to finish uploading to this site so I am taking you to a link to my photos on webshots. The lecturer in some pictures is Stu Schweiter, not sure on the spelling but he's an expert on economics and banking that has been interviewed by all major newspapers and news media. I wasn't allowed to take a list of names with me but I did know two other people there. One is, Royce Pulliam, whom I went to school with but was embarrassed when I brought that up and he then avoided me. Another would be Dudley Webb's son, not sure of his name but they are responsible for a real estate debacle called CentrePointe in Lexington, Ky as well as a big scandal in the 80s during an insurance company collapse. There are 62 pics in all, some of the advertising and banners put up by the company. Some of the meeting and the pics on the balcony are of Mr. Schweitzer and some of Chase's bigwigs. They even had the track welcome them on the sign and the races were sponsored that day by J.P. Morgan Chase using your bailout money. Look, I'm not trying to fight with you, just educate you. Investigating government corruption became a passion of mine after becoming a victim, for 15 years, of it myself. I am not left or right but I fight for the truth to come out which neither party wants to happen. Partisan arguing among the masses has been designed to keep you from seeing the things that I get called names for informing you of. I am taking a big risk by providing information, videos and even now photos of things I have had to 'dig real deep' and work undercover to obtain. I don't put myself through all of that for nothing. I am being more bold as of late because of what I KNOW is about to happen because it is being engineered that way. Like a rich man that keeps his wealth to himself as compared to the philanthropist that uses the wealth to make the world better so must I follow the philanthropist with the information I have obtained through blood, sweat and tears.

Ok so you are saying that there is a blatant attempt by the government to create a world government right?

I will disagree with you because the majority of the nations will not go along with this.

I fear corporate america more than anything the american government does because corporate america has one interest.............. make massive profits with any means possible without the care for us.

Reganomics has colapsed the middle class not the government.

The idea of deregulation, privatization, giving large sums of government money to private contractors, giving giant tax cuts to the rich 1/10 of 1% and trincle down economics and the systematic dismantlement of unions to name a few things. All these ideas were designed to destroy the middle class and to make the rich richer which has worked.

Look at the deficit when since Regan became president, look at the the amount CEO's began to make once the 70% tax was cut under Reagan. The middle class had it's golden age with wages that rose with inflation and small deficits because the taxes collected were sufficient to pay off the majority of the deficit and it prevented CEO's to put their greed over the wellbeing of their workers.

Lets get to the bottom of it:

Do you support repealing the Reaegan tax cuts? and bringing back corporate regulations that kept this bank industry in check from 1933 through 1999? How about an amendment that separates corporations from state?

For 2,000 years or more, or at least since the time of the Romans, European nations fought one another in devastating wars. Now 27 nations have formed an European Union, which started as just an economic alliance and has evolved into a regional government with its own army and navy and a single monetary system. It is unlikely that one European nation will every fight another in a war. Why? Because they had the guts to form a regional government. Listen...a world government is inevitable and necessary to the survival of the human race. We have world problems like global warming, world programs like space exploration, we need a world government to manage and solve these problems and issues. I know that people freak out when we talk about world government, "Oh NO, not another layer of government!!" But in the final analysis it will be the only thing which will prevent genocide and war. It can happen only when the five nations who enjoy an automatic veto in the United Nations, the five Allied victors of WWII, give up that veto. And all nations will have to give up an element of their soveignty, in the same manner that citizens of states had to give up some aspects of state power to form a United States of America, some day we will be asked to do the same to form a United Nations of the Planet Earth. Such a day will be a glorius day of celebration. War will end, poverty will end, there will be enough food for everyone. My prayer is that we will not need to endure another world war, perhaps a nucleur one, to obtain the balls to get this done. We may not live to see that day, but you should prepared your grandchildren's grandchildren for that day.

Well, maybe if they are paying for polluting, they will be spending less on politics. I think their money would be better spent paying for the damage they are causing to our environment. The money they have spent buying politicians isn't helping us, or the environment. At least if they are charged for creating pollution, they may work to lessen the CO2 they are producing.

Too much money is being wasted on politicians who deny climate change as reality. Maybe a CO2 tax will get their attention?

Sadly, that's not how this will work. All money spent by the corporations on new taxes will be paid by you and I in the form of extremely high inflation. They will continue to pollute all they want and just raise the prices on everything to cover the difference. This will destroy the American middle class.

I'm sorry, but it’s not over. We have only begun to attempt to make real change. Accountability must accompany CO2 tax. Corporation’s who choose to pass along the tax and not make change, should face consequences. If they do, do things which hurts us, the consumer, we will find ways to stop using what they are selling.

Corporations which are willing to participate in trying to clean up, or try and halt climate change 'will' step in and get our business. Just like people, no corporation is irreplaceable.

People really have become too complacent. They just accept, no alternative, far too easily. What will it take for people to realize, we don't have to be victims? When polluting companies start paying a CO2 tax and don't change, but pass it on to the consumer, they need further regulations. Eventually, things will change. Maybe corporations will stop buying politicians and start investing in their companies to make them more environmentally friendly?

Billions of dollars going into campaigns, while corporations claim to be unable to invest in cleaner practices ‘should’ be unacceptable. Just saying ..... accountability, accountability, accountability.

Then lets repeal the Reagan tax codes and get rid of the idea of Reganomics because that is the real reason for where we are. Until then the country was funtioning just fine and the government used this revenue for it's programs.

The republicans decided to underfund the government so that it would create huge deficits and then they could turn around and say , look the government does not work.

Reagan began the deregulation of banks and corporations. There is a direct link to spikes in the deficit and the huge tax breaks to the to 1%.

Here is a fun fact about Reganomics, the tax cuts to the 1% and deregulation in the last 30 years:

Prior to Reagan the average CEO made 30 times the average worker.

Today CEO's make 800-1000 times the amount of the average worker.

That is why the private american workers pay has not risen anywhere close to inflation.

Thanks to Reganomics and trickle down economics the wages of the private sector really did not rise at all with inflation and while the wages of government employees rose with inflation..... this does not mean that he government did anything wrong although it does show that Private companies cheat the middle class of their rights. Failure to prove your points looks like a common theme for you doesn't it ct patriot?

Don't forget that the rich and the republican party has been trying to destroy the government since the 1980's!

    • If polluting industries would shift to alternate energy sources instead of being greedy, then we wouldn't need taxes of any kind levied upon them. A revenue neutral carbon tax which would NOT punish consumers is IMPERATIVE at this time to bring down carbon emissions to avoid a climate tipping point. There is no refutation that can be given to explain away global warming. It is REAL and the fossil fuel industry CONTINUES to pollute this planet with abandon while destroying our planet and our health. Cap and trade is not something I actually think will work in time now and will be abused, but we simply cannot allow those industries that contnue to IGNORE the effect their unethical practices are having on this planet get away with it any longer.

And to be fair, I have not read about any huge tax to be levied by Obama associated with the EPA declaring Co2 a global warming gas... AS IT SHOULD BE BECAUSE IT IS.

Agree with everything and to explain there is a new tax Obama wants that will severely hurt the middle class. Taxing is not the way out of this, a broke society pollutes more. Why did Obama campaign to push green energy and then push to drill baby drill taking a page from Palin? We The People are going to have to really push for green energy and changes because the government doesn't see a paycheck in it whatsoever.

The recent portfolio of Republican strategies suggest doing just that. Scaring the public and instilling fear to galvanize the conservatives on the far right. That is what works is to spread fear about terrorism, or illegal immigrants taking jobs, or providing healthcare for anyone.

Please just post original link - Google Chrome recognizes your blog as being dangerous, infested with malware. I have told you this, as have other community members, on more than one occasion. Yet you insist on putting the community at risk.

      Why?

If it costs money and it's not required, and people don't have to do it, they don't. That's just plain human nature. If a CO2 tax is imposed, then it becomes necessary to deal with the problem rather than just ignore it as the cost may be prohibitive to ignore it any longer.

Back a few years ago, the government mandated that all gasoline stations had to dig up there old metal fuel storage tanks from under the ground and replace them with a plastic one. This was done because the old ones were rusting sufficiently to where many were starting to leak fuel and contaminating the under ground water supplies. Everyone thought this would cause a major collapse of all of these businesses. It didn't. There were some but not many. Now it is a distant memory and perhaps even unknown to many.

This CO2 tax will cause corrections to be made which in turn will stimulate other jobs to make the changes. There will be new technology that will evolve due to the needs being created. These technologies will be beneficial in other areas and will make the world a better place. Solar panels were created along time ago but due to the size and cost they weren't so popular. They are making a comeback now as the need is becoming more dire. Consequently, the size and cost is not so far out of line as the technology has evolved.

And so it is with change...

My advice is to post the actual link to the articles instead of making people go to your crap blog to read someone else's work. The common Current format is: Post link to article and ON THE CURRENT PAGE: write an explanation, summary or your attempt at wit.

    • "Abandoning all loyalty to the democratic processes this nation holds dear...."

Which process would that be? The one that got George Bush appointed to the presidency by a court? The one that ignores the will of the majority of the people who want health care reform for all but instead get insurance industry watered down compromises? The one that keeps sending troops at a cost of $1 million each per year to an illegal preemptive racist genocidal war that most Americans are against? The one that continues to bailout Wall Street with trillions of the people's money and has turned our country into a corporate socialist welfare state?

America is not a democracy and hasn't been for years? What planet are you living on?

I hope when you refer to, "the time to stop talking and start doing has come" is a reference to getting politically active and engaged? To try and sway voters to your particular candidate and not some act of violence to start a civil war? because that is what it sounded like? ? ?

Also, I am not sure what happens to women when they go off on their own, without male companionship. However, it sounds like they get raped according to your next sentence?

Does that mean I should not let my daughter attend college without being married? Should she get married immediately? Or is there some religious group or right wing group that rapes women who are on their own? What in Sam Kindles name was that little rant about? I am sure it is just an innocent parable explaining that our nation is like a women wondering off and getting raped but she is being convinced she is getting a massage? What in the HELL?

Are you saying that only MEN should run the nation, and we will be raped. Because that is what often happens to women who wonder off without male companionship?

Does that mean that like in the Saudi Arabian culture if a single women is caught alone it is her fault she is raped because she is seducing the men. And three righteous men need to witness the act for the men to be found guilty of rape, otherwise it was the seductive women's fault? I apologize if you are originally from Saudi Arabia, that would make perfect sense.

Otherwise, you sound like a person who's ideas are severely outdated. Back in the early 1900's women were actually treated as property. Sounds like you are just older and out of touch. It is not okay in society any longer to talk like this. (Sit down for this one) Black people are referred to as African American now, and are even allowed to ride on buses and use the same restroom as whites. We even have some African Americans in the White House if you have not seen a television in awhile.

So you have just stated that I have no real thought, that only you are the, "Real Thinker" amongst us. If you read a good number of my posts I will often state that there is no right or wrong to some of the dilemmas that face us. Abortion, gun laws, taxes, wars, etc. There are a lot of gray areas. I have my own opinions, that makes me a unique snow flake in my own mind. However, your intolerance of others ideas seem rather poignant of your nature.

I am sorry the govt destroyed your life. I am not sure your statement of retaliating with equal violence is the right route to take. This sounds like Theodore Kacinski who had some of these same ideologies. He felt that the govt and its people needed to be punished. I hope you are not promoting violence. Does anyone believe in peace, forgiveness, or kindness anymore?

I know your diatribe stating that only men should run our country, and if a women leaves a man she deserves to be raped equate to feminist ideologies being evil. I am really starting to become frightened of you.

So you don't think that women should be equal with men and should have the right to be on their own and single? Or even lesbian if they so desire? Or hold a job and support themselves and live a life as they choose without a man? Do you think that women should have the right to run for office?
