Vladimir Putin and Poland's Donald Tusk gathered to honor 22,000 Polish Prisoners of War who were massacred in the Katyn Forest.
The names of the 22,000 massacred are carved in a wall in the Katyn Forest. Though the Soviets, who used to place blame in propaganda on Nazi Germany, has since admitted to the massacre, most Russians don't even know the truth.
Tensions still remain among Poland and Russia, especially since the U.S. plan for a missile defense system in Poland, which was later scrapped (though a possible new plan involving Warsaw remains).
Russia's public Kultura television channel aired "Katyn", a film by Polish director Andrzej Wajda about the massacre.
