The long battle over what to do with the suit OJ Simpson was wearing when he was acquitted of murdering Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman is finally over, and the settlement should satisfy everyone.
The suit will be on display at the Newseum, the Washington DC museum dedicated to news and how it is covered. The curator of the Newseum says "For us, it's a piece of news history".
And they're right. The Simpson trial had....and continues to have...a significant impact on news coverage. (for better or for worse) An exhibit that informs and educates people on decisions that went into the coverage of OJ's trial and its aftermath is a good thing.
The settlement ends a 15-year dispute over the suit. Simpson's suit was offered to the Smithsonian, which turned it down. The Museum of Crime and Punishment wanted the suit, but the Newseum makes much more sense.
