Growing a single crop of any kind depletes soil of the nutrients plants need. If you had not smoked away what you learned in school you would know that. You would also know how to prevent it. Do you even know when the problem was first noticed in the US?

hemp is a cheap energy efficient resource... if we want to conserve we need to use more plants like that

If American farmers could legally plant industrial hemp it would be DETRAMENTAL to the illegal marijuana trade.

Those fields would mature and pollinate EVERY cannabis plant in the region, both legal and illegal.
Anyone trying to grow illegal marijuana would have their crop cross pollinated with industrial hemp RUINING THE WHOLE CROP.

until this century hemp was used by farmers to clear fields for planting, as a fallow crop. it was also used to break up compacted, overworked soil. and hemp crops dont need to be rotated as other crops do( no more empty fields). it also sheds its lush foliage throughout the season, adding mulch to the soil and helping to retain moisture

So basically after a hemp crop is planted, the soil is in BETTER condition for the next crop.

Please get your head out of your ass and EDUCATE yourself on the positives of HEMP (not marijuana..... HEMP.....it provides no high).

smoke it. When I talked to a woman from Texas recently she told me: " they
ALL smoke it down here " Though that can't be taken as absolute, it's true
that all we can see is the tip of the iceberg. It represents nearly the entire
economy of border counties in States bordering Mexico. Since an overwhelming
majority of citizens in the non decrim States have to be in the closet about
it, they obviously can't expose themselves. What no conscionable citizen
should want is 20 Million school age kids smoking it. Or those whose jobs
require the movement of heavy machinery. Education first. Safety always.

P.S. After what you mentioned about industrial hemp destroying the psyche
active Cannabis strains,you won't ever hear me advocating legalizing hemp.

It will only effect outdoor illegal crops.

Legit growers will of course take precautions the average illegal outdoor grower can not.

Legit indoor grows will still be able to survive and provide quality meds without issue.

It will simply wipe out any grower who tries to hide illegal cannais in the hemp fields or in the surrounding areas.

considered. For what it's worth, even mild psyche active Cannabis that's
a grade above inferior, is medicinal in it's effects. I'm of the opinion that
if qualified people responsibly smoked even the leaves of organicly grown
Cannabis Sativa or Indica through a water pipe filled with a strong blend
of Spearmint & Peppermint brewed tea, they'd be much better off than
smoking tobacco. M.J.should not be only for citizens with horrendous
medical conditions requiring natural pain killers. It's medical effects should
be for all but those whose age,occupations would reasonably excuse them
for public safety considerations. It's a quality of life thing. My dad's side of
the family originated from Germany & the Netherlands, and when I can retire
that's where I'm emigrating back to so that I can live my life in Peace. The

There are actually whole offices that smoke together. My brother worked for two guys that had a very productive company and they smoked weed with their employees at work.....It depends on what kind of productivity you are looking for. In that office weed helped the employees focus on what they were 'coming up with'. It expanded their abilities to focus on the details without usual office distractions.

He worked dilegently for a long time to reinstate hemp as a good viable, productive crop with so many uses. I hope his death doesn't cause a backslide in the move forward.
Hemp should be a legal plant and cannabis should be a medically legal treatment for many reasons. My first 'feeling' to fight for it was for people with cachexia from cancer that got NO relief from antiemetics yet pot gave them an appetite and helped relieve the nausea and vomiting. This allowed an already comprimized person the ability to fight a good fight against the disease that will eat you to death if you can't eat to heal yourself.

That is not true. Recently he was a crusader in showing treatments with cannabis used to heal multiple health issues.

That is something to be proud of because I know some folks that can't roll worth a damn.

But that's their personal responsibility. Advocate or no, marijuana would have been there for people to do. What's wrong with having all of the facts? I don't know a single life that has been "destroyed" by marijuana. Other drugs, yes, absolutely. Heroin, cocaine, crack, cigarettes, alcohol. But not pot. Please check your facts or wherever you got your information from and make sure it's not a biased source; we're all human here, and I've done the same thing before.

What Jack was advocating for was first and foremost CHOICE, personal freedom and liberty, which no matter how you feel about "drug" use is probably something you agree on. He also advocated strongly for the use of hemp, which isn't even in question of harming anyone and could be a multi-billion dollar industry in the United States; again, no matter what you think about "drug" use, I'm sure you can see the positives in that in these economic times.

Saying that people who are not sick use Marijuana to "escape" is looking at only one aspect of it's use. The majority of people who end up in some kind of drug care facility for marijuana are also on a host of other drugs; it is very rarely just marijuana that is "destroying" someone's life.

Activists are trying to change the stereotype against Marijuana, and obviously that is still needed desperately. Marijuana is classified as a "drug" in the US on the same level as drugs like cocaine, heroin, mescaline and ecstasy. Can you agree at least that it's not on par or as dangerous as those drugs? That we need to reevaluate our system and do more scientific research on the pros and cons of marijuana use? That the things that people have been and continue to be taught about marijuana are largely propaganda and inaccurate (for example, I was told that marijuana smoke was more cancerous than tobacco smoke, but here's a Harvard study saying that THC can cut tumors in half: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2007/04/070417193338.htm - there are many more studies just like it published by reputable universities.)
