The prediction is until Sunday (April 18) evening and it shows the cloud moving further south and south-east.
According to their website, the prediction supposes that the volcano emissions are continuous throughout this period.
The yellow parts show ash that has fallen by itself, the red parts show ash that has fallen due to rain and the black fields show the ash cloud "as it is now".
The huge ash cloud from the Icelandic volcano has caused air travel chaos across Europe, leaving hundreds of thousands of passengers stranded.
About 17,000 flights were expected to be cancelled on Friday due to the dangers posed by clouds of volcanic ash from Iceland, aviation officials said, with airports in Britain, France, Germany, and across Europe closed until at least Saturday.

From a global point of view this was really an insignificant eruption, but all Europe has fallen in chaos, When we will see the really scary climatic changes in the world, what will we do then? Let's start now preparing ourselves, the governments aren't listening to us now, but if the whole nation will ask for laws and reforms the politicians will have to do something.

There is no such thing as an insignificant volcanic eruption, they all possess the capacity to release vast amouts of poisonious gases, ash. If its insignificant why don't you go breath the air downwind from it. A ignorant statement if I ever read one.

You have misunderstood me. If you think of the dimensions of the earth and the actual dimensions of this volcanic cloud, you easily understand that it's like a fly on a tennis ball, of course it's very dangerous, there are hundreds of people who don't have houses anymore... But if you think of how such a small phenomenon, thinking of the earth's dimensions, has created such an economical disaster, I ask myself, when the sealevels will rise all over the world, what will happen then?

That's what they get for liberalizing their economy. Disaster Capitalism.
I bet there's some company right now wondering how they can make a buck off this tragedy. - 2 years ago
