Ahmadinejad: Osama Bin Laden Not in Iran, More Likely in D.C.

Osama bin Laden may be the most wanted man on the planet, but Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said he has an idea where the terrorist leader is holed up: not a damp cave in the Middle East, but some far cozier setting in Washington, D.C.

The apparently sarcastic quip came during an interview with ABC News' George Stephanopoulos as Ahmadinejad responded to a claim in new documentary "Feathered Cocaine" that bin Laden has been living comfortably in Tehran, Iran, for years.

"Your question is laughable," Ahmadinejad said with a smile. "Our position is quite clear. Some journalists have said bin Laden is in Iran. These words don't have legal value. Our position towards Afghanistan and against terrorism is quite clear... I don't know such a thing. You are giving news which is very strange.

"I heard that Osama bin Laden is in Washington, D.C.," he added.

When that remark was challenged, Ahmadinejad pressed further.

"Yes, I did. He's there. Because he was a previous partner of Mr. Bush. They were colleagues in fact in the old days. You know that. They were in the oil business together. They worked together," he said.

    • You should consider the source with some reasonable skepticism.
The Iranian leader is a monster talking about 2 other monsters. And
while it might take one to know one-even two, there's point at which
his story becomes implausable. D.C. is a small area. And it contains
a lot of people who know what Bin Laden looks like. They know he's
justly wanted dead or alive. So the chance he could be so well
disguised he could go unnoticed by someone for years now is slim
to none. And the idea that all those people would allow someone to
harbor a fugitive from Justice in a Mass Murder 1 case is also slim
to none. I'm not suggesting it's impossible. But you must admit unlikely.

    • ahhhhhhhhhhh
the connections of former friends that become foes and use all their official power to combat one another and take out innocents in the process,..seems like 2 devils on one planet and their is only room for one.
now that McBushie is no longer in power, perhaps Bin Laden will have his day and make sure he is the only devil on earth

    • I have to question the "most wanted man on the planet" supposition. Most wanted by whom...the same people who are keeping him hidden...in plain sight?

I must say, he has a valid point.
