This is such bs and highlights what a gross injustice the war on drugs really is.
The police were able to obtain the warrant solely because a confidential informant said that large quantities of drugs were being sold out of the home. In other words they busted some guy with a bit of pot, and offered him a get out of jail free card if he ratted out someone else.
This type of warrant needs to be stopped. What happened to the days when police had to actually do police work.
If I were this family I would sue the police and the judge that signed the warrant.
Completely disgusting. - 2 years ago

Citizens should prosecute individual officers and everyone in charge, up to the local chief of police - these people belong behind bars, not in the uniform. Get a jury trial and put them in jail.

Classic case of intimidation followed by a mistake, covered up with an excuse by enforcement agencies. I myself became a victim to such a scenario last year. Police received a random tip someone was selling marijuana somewhere in the apartment complex. Raided my apartment, I was not selling marijuana, found less than an ounce (mass law states less than an ounce is only a civil offense). I was caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. I spent the next six months waiting for the government lab to weigh the confiscated material while being forced to go to court every 45 days only to hear they have not made it around to weighing it yet. Meanwhile im shelling out thousands of dollars for a lawyer all because one cop said it looked like more than an ounce. Six months go by, they finally weigh it, find out its a tiny amount and offer me a "continuance without a finding" and a year of probation. Nearly broke at this point, to broke to go to trial and prove my innocence, im forced to take the offer. If you don't have the money you cant play the game, thats right it costs a lot of money for a fair trial. Some will say "why not use a state provided attorney?" No offense to state attorneys but if i had utilized one i would most certainly be in jail at this point, they juggle way to many cases for individual attention and to ensure you don't fall through a hole. They also took my pancake mix thinking it was "hard drugs". Thank god the Bisquick mix test came back negative.

What is bs, is the fact he still ended up pleading guilty to the paraphernalia charge. I would really like to see this guy become a poster child for the consequences of prohibition.

Great question Jubal, you would think being forced to give your name to the Police would be a violation of the 4th Admendment but according to a 5-4 vote in the Supreme Court, US citizens do not enjoy a constitutional right to refuse to reveal their identity when requested by police. The reasons given for what counts as probable cause are flimsy and to open to abuse. Your identity and privacy does not belong to you. Land of the Free!.....this is what I have dedicate my life to?

What I want to know is if you have the right to remain silent, then why do you have to give your name?

This is a solid example of real Homegrown Terrorism.
That's why they've earned the names like " Fascists ",
" Pigs " etc. Airport screeners have machines to help them
detect the tools of dangerous idiocy, which is basicly what
those dangerous idiots are. Yet the simplest of proper Psych
testing, and proper training seems to elude the simple minded
keepers of these reptile brain animals disgracing the uniform.
Sue the bastards !!! Bankrupt their employer and teach them
that negligence is a tort. That will teach them noone in the USA
is above the law. Hit them where it realy hurts and drive that
message home, and you'll see things change. The worst thing
any law abiding human anywhere can do is to allow themselves
to be intimidated by thugs in uniform or out of it. - 2 years ago

That's really f'd up. Because back in Nov, 2004, voters in Columbia, MO approved a measure that prohibits Columbia police officers from arresting anyone for simple marijuana possession. That means anyone found with less than an ounce and a quarter of marijuana can only be given a summons to appear in the city's municipal court. Police officers no longer have the discretion to refer the case to the district attorney for prosecution by the state. Once in municipal court, the maximum fine that can be levied is $250, regardless of whether the defendant is a first-time offender or has been arrested multiple times.
What all that means is, it's basically LEGAL to possess marijuana in Columbia in the first place.

But still, how is that $250 fine going to pay the cost of that raid? This is a complete waste of taxpayers money.
The way they raided the place you would think that a terrorist was there planning to bomb the pentagon.

these worthless cowardly cops in full riot gear have scarred this child for life. I feel scarred just from watching this video. What the hell has happened to this country and who are these mindless fucks with guns who don't have any moral decency? They are so jacked up on adrenaline they have to shoot something. This is one of the most disturbing videos I have seen in a long time. We watch them tazer children and old people, shoot family pets, and terrorize people over a bag of pot, walking on a football field, or asking for directions? What the fuck is wrong with the police in this country, and how the hell do these monsters sleep at night?
Congress, get off your over-privileged asses and do something about this. The American people are fed up. Take your damn Patriot Act, that started all of this terrorizing of American citizens, and shove it up your worthless asses.
I'm not sorry. I'm damn sick and tired of seeing things like this.

They deserved it. We should have more dogs shot and houses raided for "small amounts of marijuana", because the civilians are easy targets and the cartels have guns to shoot back at police. This way, people think they are actually solving the problem.

Yes, I was being sarcastic. EXTREMELY sarcastic.
I'll make sure to note it next time, because I'm sure there are people on this site who would truthfully identify with that statement no matter how insanely ridiculous it sounds.

The only order I considered "unlawful" and made me sick to my stomach was witnessing a bunch of "Weekend Warriors"/Army Reservists take extremely disgusting pleasure in murdering packs and packs of wild dogs on the outskirts of Tilkrit, Iraq. Laughing like baboons taking pleasure in the murder of these dogs. Neither once have I ever felt more ashamed being an American Soldier. They took far to much pleasure in the wholesale slaughter of these poor defensive animals. Guess, they couldn't go home to Butt-Fuck, Nowhere without telling everyone about the time they got to fire their M-16's. These fake soldiers are worse then the civilians.
