If you really think about it, the United States Government has been declaring war against "We The People" for the last 30 or 40 years.

We are talking about crazed maniacs with legal (and lethal) authority that are destroying private property and killing harmless pets, traumatizing our youth, and all over a substance that merely causes fits of laughter, euphoria, and in it's purest form, can cure cancer. It is shocking to watch Law Enforcement become the human equivalent of cancer -- remember WACO? Well, now it's happening to all of us.

In the movies, only the worst kind of scum kill dogs.

Locking someone in a prison cell for smoking marijuana is like locking someone up in prison for masturbating. No one likes to talk about it, but we all do it.

Way to dramatize that young boy's life! And to shoot their dog infront of him, are you serious?! Someone really needs to retrain ALL police officers, SWAT members, and the DEA. There is a way to do something, and then there is an unneeded over exaggerated way of doing things. The police could of definitely done this an easier way, but they are power hungry criminals.

The police were not there concerning a drug bust, they were responding to a domestic disturbance call.

After running the address through their computers, investigators discovered there was a man living at that address who was wanted on an aggravated murder warrant.

Officers surrounded the home, and ordered the man to come outside.

That's when a woman opened the back door, and released the pit bull on the officers.

The dog attacked the patrolmen, and they opened fire, hitting the pit bull three times.

After searching the area, police found the suspect, 37-year-old Vittorio Delgado, hiding in the backyard.

Police are considering charges against the unnamed female who opened the door, and released the dog.

They really needed to get high. Really.

i love Dogs, much more then I love Police Officers. That being said the Police Officers were executing a legal search warrant and the Officers on the scene made a split second decision that the dogs posed a threat to the Officers. It is a know fact that Drug dealers use Pit Bulls and other breeds for security and that many Police Officers have been attacked and bit by dangerous dogs. True the dog was only following its own natural instinct and defending his/her family but the blame belongs to the owner of the dog. Selling drugs in a home where his family lives is a stupid and dangerous thing to do. But, I have both seen and heard stories from my friends who are Police Officers that you can use many non lethal methods to subdue a dog without endangering the Officers or the dog. Kevlar shields, pepper spray and even a simply common fire extinguisher. The dogs death and the trauma of the child is heartbreaking, but I don't understand why everyone is so upset with the Police Officers and not blaming the father for using his home for a stash house for drugs.

When they confiscated the bag of weed, did they turn it in?

Did they take it and smoke it themselves?

Oh yeah, that's been done by police officers with their war on drugs.

People are quick to lose perspective on issues like these.
First of all, killing barking dogs while on a raid is standard operating procedure (even in canada).
Secondly, they had a warrant from a judge. aka the failsafe designed to prevent a "police state"
And finally IF the police were in the wrong, the family can sue the police and get their justice. Thats the vital thing the current community ALWAYS forgets in these police brutality stories.

So the cops went overkill on this raid, then the police failed at gathering appropriate intelligence, and the judge failed at proper judgement(lol). So either the family and/or the cops broke the law, but whoever it was, justice will be served. Hallujah! the system works!

Trust me i would be right there with you guys shouting "police state!!!!", but ONLY ONLY ONLY if the family here had a legit case against the cops but were unable to persue it for whatever reason.

the War on Drugs is a lost cause.... how is it that our own govt gets caught multiple times smuggling drugs into our nation (most likely the drugs were traded for guns in third world nations) and no one thinks twice about busting a street dealer. perfect example is "Freeway Ricky Ross" , now i know crack is a horrible drug and ruins a lot of lives, but his case well documents the CIA involvement.
billions of dollars are put towards a war on drugs that will never be won b/c the suppliers are the ones fighting the war.
