    • Well, if we continue to monetize our date, we eventually will run out of bullshit to base our dollar on, what then? I'm all for social spending, but thats for the poor not the fledgling corporations. I say let them fail and drown in a pool of salivia from their own nervous breakdowns. Maybe then some small businesses would actually be given a chance to survive and make a profit and maybe even produce some jobs...call me crazy but i dont give bonuses to people who fuck up on the job.

    • kilo, you've got to be kidding! Where do you think the government gets it's money? From us! They are stealing our money and freedoms at a remarkable pace. Don't bail them out 'cause Korea DID fall to a statist government.

i'm talking about SOUTH Korea for one thing, which is still holding democratic elections
and yes, money is generated from the private sector and it pays for public sector idiocy, I too don't want them to bailout Greece but whatever, they are going to do anyway, let's hear the good news, it screws them up
      but on the non-conspiratorial side,

-world markets are freer than have ever been in history
-more people live in democracies than ever before in history

    • Now the American taxpayers are bailing out irresponsible Greeks. (No, I do not mean college frat boys). European socialism has failed. Spending American taxpayer dollars (through the IMF) will not fix Greece's economy; it only delays it's ultimate collapse.

    • ugh... let them bailout Greece, they bailed out South Korea in the 90's, yeah it's a stupid idea but it's their stupid idea, which means if it backfires the opposition parties will gain popularity

gotta look at the bright side

South Korea sure didn't fall into a statist government, yes they may blame the free market for this, what's new?, but the nations that do liberalize their economies will get the investment and the ones who shut themselves off (like european nations) will suffer,

i'm saying they'll only hurt themselves, we live in a global society now, hell if america becomes more statist i'll move to a freer nation

besides, this a government's problem, they ran the deficits, if anything people will keep a closer eye on what their governments spend from now on

so don't attack me like i don't know anything

and another thing, "make more money off of stealing our freedoms"

      ?!
what, that's sounds so odd to me, the government isn't evil, it's stupid, very very stupid yes, but the government isn't after us (least western gov'ts), with that kind of talk it could alienate the general population and anti-authoritarian ideas shoved into the conspiratorial bin

i would like to take this time to admit i'm an anarchist who would do away with gov't in a heart beat too

The war on drugs is a perfect example. What I'm saying is reality, not conspiracy.

They make money off of taking your freedoms.....at least somebody does....

Where corruption stops and conspiracy begins I'm not sure...but it is not conspiracy to say people make money off of stealing your freedoms....it's reality.

    • shanklinmike:

well if that's the case why don't the government just take all our freedoms? (marijuana legalization is gaining ground anyway)

the government spends a lot of money too on fighting the drug war, more than it takes in, which is another reason to end the drug war, your statement makes no sense that taking away freedoms generates money, more freedom to people generates money

the government rarely does anything to make money

most people don't understand this and we should explain it to them but to say everyone is brainwashed would be alienating for most

      "...at least somebody does...."

    • shanklinmike:

Look in a law dictionary and research the legal definition of Conspiracy.
You can research it in a Webster's Dictionary too. Webster's definition
is a secondary or persuasive authority on the English language in every
level of every Court in the USA. It simply means 2 or more entities combine
to carry out a scheme. That happens every day everwhere, and is as
common as water. Yet somehow people seem to think they're going to
be stigmatized as nuts if they simply believe as cynicly as P.T Barnhum did
      about human nature.

    • kilo88:

      A short answer....

      the prison industrial complex

There are plenty of people who make money off the system (lawyers, judges, policemen have more jobs).

All these people would have to find jobs in the productive sector if they weren't abusing natural law.

That is all I was indicating, didn't mean for it to drag on this long...
