We heard that a higher than normal amount of dead sea turtles were washing up on Gulf Coast beaches, then nothing. Apparently, the marine biologists performing the necropsies are under contract not to disclose or photograph any of their findings.Examination of dead sea turtles after BP's Gulf oil spill under gag order

They're lying about the clean-up efforts. They aren't giving 110% of their time and effort to this. The truth of the matter is they don't know how to stop it. Everything they're doing is trial and error. They know the dispersants are toxic and that they're going to do more harm than good but they need to give the appearance of doing something until they can figure out how to stop this. What they're not admitting is that this part of the ocean is now dead, the coastline is now polluted and will be so for the next 100 -150 years. Help is being offered from the international community but it's not being accepted. Why? Why is that? Certain parts.....KEY pieces of information isn't being made public. Why is that? Some of the most brilliant scientific minds in the world are offering up counsel and options. But untested dispersants are what's being used? Why is that? FYI, this is going to affect more than just the gulf. The current will carry this mess until the entire continent feels the affects. The folks who live along that coast line should consider it a wrap and just count up their losses and leave. Life as they knew it is over.

Yeah and just wait until the next celebrity dies, while thats running on loop on every media outlet Obama will be signing checks to bail BP out!
The truth is always being locked away for the best interest of government/corporate greed. We can't let this become a forgotten issue. - 3 years ago

I am so disgusted with our government and the way they cover for corporate criminal behavior and grind the citizenry to dirt under their feet with their police state tactics, invasive policies and complete refusal to listen to the people they are supposed to be representing. If there is a gag order, it is coming from the White House.

it does not matter,..soon enough the gulf will become a "dead zone" where no life is found period,..we do not need every single dirty piece of evidence to know where and what caused all the problems that are soon to arise. No one in their right mind would believe any Oil executive stating that their oil does not cause death and destruction to environment,....common knowledge has its advantages. Everyone knows in Alaska, that Exxon is responsible for Puget Sound, everyone knows Chevron is responsible for Equador
what is done is done, death is coming to everything and anything that comes in contact with poison, that is the natural process.your natural next step should be to always remember.

also, besides turtles - there have got to be dozens of other animals washing ashore that many of us (me included) know nothing about...

yea, the jellyfish and dolphins. Then the stories just vanish. All of the news outlets posted the same exact story on all of them, then no follow up. I have to dig into obscure independent blogs to get any info.

It's just like anything else in the media. As soon as some juicy celebrity scandal surfaces, the rest of the world goes on hold. For example, David Cameron and British politics, is beating out the oil spill on CNN at this moment. It's not that those things aren't important, but I certainly don't see them as priorities. The less public interest there is, the more under-handed stuff will go on unnoticed.

We need to send emails to CNN asking for coverage on this.

yes, and we need to know, not only if it was oil, but also if the chemical dispersant may have played a role in their deaths.

We'll be lucky if they tell us it was the oil that killed them. You can be damn sure that BP is going to quash anything that links the dispersants to animal deaths. I'm surprised that I haven't heard any boycotts on BP. Maybe I'm just out of the loop. Car's broken anyway.
I'd defininately love to see some more coverage on this. Thanks for the story Seraphina76.
