Unemployment rose in the quarter to March by 53,000

First day with a new Government and the unemployment figures must be sitting on a desk somewhere hoping for a new solution. According to the figures UK employment went down to 72% and the numbers rose to 53,000 'in the quarter to March'.

"Other figures from the Office for National Statistics showed that the number of people classed as economically inactive has reached a record high of 8.17 million."-Channel 4 news.
