The pentagon is imprisoning and torturing U.S. Soldiers until the give up their pension and their right to costly medical treatment

An army sergeant who had received 22 honors including a Combat Action Badge prior to being wounded in Iraq by a mortar shell was told he was faking his medical symptoms and subjected to abusive treatment until he agreed to a "personality disorder"(PD) discharge.
After a doctor with the First Cavalry division wrote he was out for "secondary gain," Chuck Luther was imprisoned in a six- by eight-foot isolation chamber, ridiculed by the guards, denied regular meals and showers and kept awake by perpetual lights and blasting heavy metal music---abuses similar to the punishments inflicted on terrorist suspects by the CIA.
"They told me I wasn't a real soldier, that I was a piece of crap. All I wanted was to be treated for my injuries," 12-year veteran Luther told reporter Joshua Kors of "The Nation" magazine (April 26th). "Now suddenly I'm not a soldier. I'm a prisoner, by my own people. I felt like a caged animal in that room. That's when I started to lose it." The article is called "Disposable Soldiers: How the Pentagon is Cheating Wounded Vets."
Luther had been seven months into his deployment at Camp Taji, 20 miles north of Baghdad, when a mortal shell exploded at the base of his guard tower that knocked him down, slamming his head into the concrete. "I remember laying there in a daze, looking around, trying to figure out where I was at," he said. Luther suffered permanent hearing loss in his right ear, tinnitus, agonizing headaches behind his right eye, severe nosebleeds, and shoulder pain.
The sergeant took a Chapter 5-13 PD discharge in order to escape his confinement, becoming one of 22,600 soldiers so separated since 2001, a discharge that relieves the Pentagon of the responsibility and cost of long-term care for the wounded. An Army major told Luther to sign the discharge papers or "you're going to be here a lot longer." Luther recalled, "They had me broke down. At that point, I just wanted to get home." Many of the PD discharge recipients are soldiers who have served two and three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, author Kors writes.
Sgt. Angel Sandoval, who served under Luther, said Luther's insistence on his wearing ceramic plates strapped to his bulletproof vest saved his life and described Luther as "one of the greatest leaders I had." Yet this is the man the Army imprisoned when he requested medical treatment. "This should have been resolved during the Bush administration. And it should have been stopped now by the Obama administration," Paul Sullivan, executive director of Veterans for Common Sense, is quoted as saying about PD discharges. "The fact that it hasn't is a national disgrace."
Luther's case is no isolated example, writes Kors, noting that in the past three years "The Nation" has uncovered more than two dozen such cases. "All the soldiers were examined, deemed physically and psychologically fit, then welcomed into the military. All performed honorably before being wounded during service...Yet after seeking treatment for their wounds, each soldier was diagnosed with a pre-existing personality disorder, then discharged and denied benefits," Kors writes.
This past December, he reports, VA doctors found Luther to be suffering from migraine headaches, vision problems, dizziness, nausea, difficulty hearing, numbness, anxiety and irritability---and diagnosed him with traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder, declaring the veteran 80 percent disabled. The diagnosis cleared the way for the sergeant to receive disability benefits and lifetime medical care.
With his health improving, Luther has vowed to fight the military on behalf of other soldiers who got a raw deal like himself. He founded Disposable Warriors, a one-soldier operation near Fort Hood, Texas, that assists soldiers fighting their discharge and those appealing their disability rating, Kors reports. Luther says the base had 12 suicides last year as of June 2nd but reported only two. Luther is quoted in a November 21, 2009, article on "Truthout" as saying there is only one mental health professional for every 1,263 soldiers "and that is the first failure."
After opening Disposable Warriors, Luther found a threatening note on his car windshield that read: "Back off or you and your family will pay!!" Whoever wrote that note doesn't know Chuck Luther very well. #

Lets bring all of those kids home and send Obama and his entire Washington menagerie including all residents of the Federal Reserve Bank, Goldman Sachs, All CEO's making 200,000 and above so that all of them may join the patriotic movement to do their part for world peace. Since the beginning of wars the young and teenagers have been dieing for their leaders not their country, let it be known its time for the leaders to move up the the front lines and prove their guts and desire for war or peace, an economy or unimaginable 12 to 15 digit debt. Its time to make the leaders to move up or get out of the way and let the people get back to winning the peace while the parasites start sweating for a change. The people built Washington so the People own Washington and may soon demand it be returned to the people. I forgot to mention that all of the local and state politicians shall be included in the call to duty on the front lines. All politicians have a special debt to pay to society since they are also guilty of living beyond their means. The common citizen has been bleeding and suffering for far too long now. Politicians are leaders but its time to give up those plush chairs for an army cot.

but they have power wich is based on something of great value (valued so high as to have us willfully yield to them) so we recognize that the people to be used in combat are the dispensable people, those who when killed have the most minimal impact on society.
if you send the lincolns, roosevelts, and jeffersons of to war we are lead by president camacho the 5 time ultimate smackdown champion and retired porn star.
i agree as ozzy pointed out in war pigs in the 70s

Prescription drug use is out of control in today's army. the Pentagon has increasingly relied on prescription drugs to keep its warriors on the front lines. In recent years, the number of military prescriptions for antidepressants, sleeping pills, and painkillers has risen as soldiers come home with battered bodies and troubled minds. And many of those service members are then sent back to war theaters in distant lands with bottles of medication to fortify them.
According to data from a U. S. Army mental-health survey released last year, about 12 percent of soldiers in Iraq and 15 percent of those in Afghanistan reported taking antidepressants, anti-anxiety medications, or sleeping pills. Prescriptions for painkillers have also skyrocketed. Data from the Department of Defense last fall showed that as of September 2007, prescriptions for narcotics for active-duty troops had risen to almost 50,000 a month, compared with about 33,000 a month in October 2003, not long after the Iraq war began.

At the United States Army Medical Symposium and Exposition, May 17-21, 2010, San Antonio, Texas, MEDCOM will formally roll out a new Comprehensive Behavioral Health System of Care (CBHSOC) Campaign Plan. The CBHSOC is nested under the Army Campaign Plan for Health Promotion, Risk Reduction and Suicide Prevention to standardize and optimize the vast array of behavioral health policies and procedures across the MEDCOM to ensure seamless continuity of care to better identify, prevent, treat and track behavioral health issues that affect Soldiers and families during every phase of the Army Force Generation cycle. I have heard of SGT Luther and his Disposable Warrior movement. A Chapter 5-13 PD discharge is a serious accusation but it doesn't necessary mean denial of VA benefits. The V.A is a mess right now, no denying that and many cases of PTSD are being misdiagnosed and benefits are being delayed to inaccurate incident reports. The length of time of the claim investigation can take far to long, leaving wounded veterans lacking the proper medical care or financial benefits. The imprisoning and torturing aspect of his story rings false, at most SGT Luther was detained to his quarters while an investigation taken underway to determine the validity of his statement because his account of the events differed from the official incident report. The V.A is trying to change and adapt its policy concerning PTSD but for active service members it is still a taboo that will stain your record. So many soldiers suffer with mental stress rather then seek treatment. Their is an atmosphere of paranoia concerning PTSD, it's so bad that I don't even talk to my company Chaplin but instead communicate with my hometown parish priest for fear of being labeled with a 5-13PD charge. The poor level of care of returning wounded veterans has more to do with an insufficient V.A then a calculated program by the government to rob veterans of their benefits. Personally, I have no complaints against the V.A, MMP or the AMAP. All my heath issues have been taken care of in a speedy and professional basis and even had the pleasure of a bit of plastic surgery to reduce the scarring on my fore head and left side of my face as a result of a rock shower from an IED that tore up my pretty little face a bit. PTSD and suicides among returning Veterans are extremely disturbing and the V.A needs to be more active in providing the proper mental health care.

The only thing I find disagreeable at times is when people attack me simply because of my chosen career and not my opinions.

There is a starting place to return to the rule of law and justice.. Firstly, the Real News Network has an article about the ten most corrupt men in the world/Washington? All of them are associated with the Fedferal Reserve Bank and Goldman Sachs and are the Buddies, advisors and owners of Obama and everyone on down to the lowly congressmen. Now there is one other step in the line to the real bosses, Who and what organizations own Goldman Sachs and the Federal Reserve? There is always a bigger boss and they are the shadow leaders and not visible but they control the entire world and the life and death of each person alive. They are the power of God, they are the evil God of man. They are also flesh and blood Crime bosses. Find these silent parasites and shoot them on sight and peace can return to the world.

We need to end this opressive establishment thats ruled by dollars and cents, but the question is how? I don't think any of us want it to turn into the civil war bailey78 mentioned, but unfortunately it does seem that something may be brewing. Hopefully more of an awakening of our generation that forces us to open our eyes to government atrocities.
If we ever do manage to overthrow this horrible government system I imagine something along the lines of the Nuremberg trials will be necessary.
