Blears 'disappointed' no women in Labour leadership contest

With the first criticism of the new coalition government being related to a lack of diversity, it's surprising the opposition party is suffering from the same problems.

Though today, Hazel Blears criticized the current lack of women candidates in the Labour leadership race.

"I think it is a great shame [that no women are running]. I think that modern political parties should reflect the people they represent," she said.

It sounds like Blears won't in the leadership running along with Harriet Harman and Yvette Cooper.

    • No ones stopping women from running...! If there was a candidate strong enough they'd apply... you could say the same for etnic minorities applying...
