Jindal is calling on the president to force British Petroleum to immediately start paying to fortify Louisiana's coastline with barrier islands so the oil can be caught before it comes ashore.
The federal government has only agreed to pay for a fraction of the 24 barrier islands he wants built, adding to Jindal's frustration.
As Jindal is unsatisfied with not only bp's response to the oil spill in the gulf, he is frustrated with the limited funds being provided by the federal government.Gov. Jindal explains how federal financial support during the aftermath of Katrina was not in his states best interest.In wanting more federal money than the government is giving,in the interest of his state, Bobby Jindal clearly see's the crisis in the gulf as a disaster very much different than Katrina.
