    • 1) There is no humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The markets are full. There are fancy restaurants. An Olympic-size swimming pool was recently opened there. What hardship there is has resulted from the actions taken by the tyrannical Hamas regime which rules Gaza, which recently burned down an UNRWA summer camp for children, for example, and blew up one of Gaza’s restaurants.

      2) It is idiotic to call upon Israel to lift its ‘blockade’ of Gaza, since every week Israel allows into Gaza tens of thousands of tons of humanitarian aid. Why not call upon Egypt to lift its blockade of Gaza, which had been imposed more rigidly than Israel’s restrictions -- until yesterday, when Egypt temporarily opened its border to fend off attacks from the Arab world during the current hysteria.

      3) The only reason for Israel’s ‘blockade’ is to prevent weapons and missiles from being transported into Gaza. Lifting the ‘blockade’ would therefore allow those weapons through. Anyone demanding that Israel lift the blockade has one intention only.....to jeopardise its security and cause the deaths of many more Israelis.

It is beyond nauseating to hear the self righteous hypocritical bullshit and double standards of the antisemites, pretending to care for the palestinians when all they really care about is hating Israel.

      Helen Thomas re: the murders.

"Thomas: “The initial reaction to the flotilla massacre, deliberate massacre, an international crime, was pitiful.
What do you mean you regret something that should be so strongly condemned, and if any other nation in the world had done it, we would have been up in arms?
What is this sacrosanct ironclad relationship where a country that deliberately kills people and boycotts every aid.. and abet the boycott?”

Gibbs: Well, Look I think the initial reaction regretted the loss of life as we tried and as we still continue to gather the relevant. ..

Thomas: Regret won’t bring them back.

Gibbs: Nothing can bring them back Helen, because I think if you could that wouldn’t be up for debate. We are.. we believe that a credible and transparent investigation has to look into the facts and we’re open to international participation in that investigation.

Thomas: Why did you think of that so late, why didn’t you initially condemn it?

Gibbs: Why didn’t we think of?

Thomas: Why didn’t you initially condemn it?

Gibbs: Again, I think the statements that we initially released speak directly to that."

    • Almost never mentioned in discussions of the Israeli blockade on Gaza is the necessity of preventing the shiping of advanced missiles such as Scuds to Hamas. These large missile systems cannot be smuggled into Gaza via the tunnels from the Sinai, they can only be delivered by boat.
Iran would like to position such missiles in Gaza in the same way they have furnished missiles to Hezbollah via Syria.
That is the real objective of these phoney ''humanitarian aid'' attempts, to force Israel to end the inspection of cargo to Gaza to facilitate arms deliveries.

    • Fact: Israel imposed a blockade of Gaza to prevent weapons from reaching the radical Islamic regime there that continues to make war on Israeli civilians. Egypt, too, has blockaded the strip, hoping to choke off weapons to Hamas, which it views as a threat.

Fact: Humanitarian relief is delivered to Gaza from Israel on a daily basis. During the first three months of this year, 94,500 tons of supplies were transferred to Gaza from Israel, including 48,000 tons of food products; 40,000 tons of wheat; 2,760 tons of rice; 1,987 tons of clothes and footwear; and 553 tons of milk powder and baby food for the strip's 1.5 million inhabitants. Representatives of international aid groups and the United Nations move freely to and from the Gaza Strip.

Fact: Upon learning of the intentions of the Gaza flotilla, the Israeli government asked the organizers to deliver their humanitarian aid first to an Israeli port where it would be inspected (for weapons) before being forwarded to Gaza. The organizers refused. "There are two possible happy endings" a Muslim activist on board explained, "either we will reach Gaza or we will achieve martyrdom."

Fact: The flotilla ignored multiple instructions from Israeli navy ships to change course and follow them to the Israeli port of Ashdod.

Fact: On board one of the ships, according to Al-Jazeera, the "humanitarian" Palestinians sang "Khaybar, Khaybar, oh Jews, the army of Muhammad will return" — a reference to the 628 massacre of Jews in Arabia at the hands of Muhammad.

Fact: The flotilla's participants included the IHH, a "humanitarian relief fund" based in Turkey that has close ties to Hamas and to global jihadi groups in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Chechnya and elsewhere, and which has also organized relief to anti-U.S. Islamic radicals in Fallujah, Iraq. A French intelligence report suggests that IHH has provided documents to terrorists, permitting them to pose as relief workers. Among the other cheerleaders — former British MP and Saddam Hussein pal George Galloway, all- purpose America and Israel hater Noam Chomsky, and John Ging, head of UNRWA, the U.N.'s agency for Palestinian support.

Fact: When the family of Gilad Shalit, the Israeli soldier who was kidnapped during a cross border raid by Hamas in 2006, offered to support the flotilla if they would agree to ask Hamas to permit international agencies to visit their son, they were rebuffed.

Fact: When Israeli commandos rappelled down ropes to the deck of the Mavi Marmara, they were assaulted and beaten with metal poles and baseball bats by the terrorists on board. .

    • We need only remember the Karine A affair when in 2002 Israeli commandos seized another ship headed to Gaza -- with 50 tons of weapons including explosives, anti-tank missiles and Katyusha rockets -- to understand why Israel wants to inspect aid going to Gaza.

Since Israel withdrew in 2005 from Gaza, more than 10,000 rockets and mortars have been fired into Israel. Israel had no option but to impose a naval blockade in an effort to halt the weapons flow.

Israel repeatedly offered to allow the Free Gaza flotilla to dock at Ashdod and to deliver all humanitarian supplies to Gaza by normal overland routes.

At least one flotilla participant was quoted a few days ago as applauding the possibility of martyrdom - a clear recognition that the intent of the operation was more about confrontation than compassion.

To allow that religious fanaticism to succeed is to fail both the political and the religious call for peace and justice.
