Their behavior is normal for our species when we enjoy freedoms. It may startle, but many forms of expression startle, like many paintings. It is about Freedom isn’t it? Raise your children to be wise, and you and they will not have a problem with freedom of expression.

well christians have nothing to do with these parades aside from the gays in them that believe that christ is thier lord and savior.
i was stating that christianity have functions that offend to a great degree other members of our society, from purchasing billboards to preach unsolicited advice from,to the ones who speak in tongues and gyrate like morons.

Dude--that's sort of like posting pictures of Fred Phelps and Westboro church protesters and asking is this what Christianity is all about? Or posting a picture of Sarah Palin and asking is this what the female Republican looks like? Or posting a picture of the current Pope and asking is this what a person who covers for pedophiles looks like? Or posting a picture of George W. and Dick Cheney and asking are these guy the "real" inspiration for the TV show 24?

That and honestly your postings are probably the first time that "gay pride" pictures have been predominately featured on a mainstream media outlet format. So seriously get over it--gay pride parades are not intended to be open to the public or meant to be examples of what every homosexual looks like--and if I really wanted to waste my time I am sure I could "dig" up some pictures of drunk half naked heterosexuals at St. Patrick's Day parades or at the Rose Bowl parade or at Mardi Gras or at just about any Octoberfest type parade and come on here and say--aha--this is what all heterosexuals look like when they miss their AA meetings.

First off--the guys in the picture are not taking their "cloths" off and groping each other--if anything that kind of behavior is an example of sexual harassment or an example of what happens in heterosexual strip clubs or in Bill Clinton's case--it's an example of behavior that will get you impeached. But to answer your question directly--nothing. And the only one trying to "sell" it that way seems to be you.

The guys in the picture above actually have more clothes on that many guys I see on the beach in California. So what's your problem? I really don't understand what's so offensive about it. It can be perceived as tacky, but offensive?

It's really sad that is the representation that most people seem to get of gay people, when these parades are nothing more than the gay Mardi Gras.

I have to agree with you on this. I am gay and can't stand this type of behavior. I have absolutely no desire to go out in public naked and parade around like this. What is the point and what does it achieve? Straight people don't do it.
It does more damage to gay people than good in my opinion. Put your clothes on and go about your day to day life to show others being gay is just a run of the mill thing in daily life. Not shoving it in peoples faces like this.

I'm sorry, that saying doesn't make any sense to me.
Straight people don't strip and dance around in their underwear to prove to others that they are proud of their sexuality. So why should gay people do it?
The best way for people to accept gays is to see that they function in society like anyone else. Dancing in a leather g-string down the street...what does that accomplish except alienate people.

"Straight people don't strip and dance around in their underwear to prove to others that they are proud of their sexuality."

are you being super sarcastic or do you really believe this? people dance around half naked to show they are proud? pride has been taken over by corporations. it's just a big party for the most part. and those dancing half naked (like my straight friend who went last year and flashed for beads [it must be in their genes]) are definitely just doing it for the partying: just like straight people do during other parades like mardi gras, carnival, and cinco de mayo.

"The best way for people to accept gays is to see that they function in society like anyone else."

yeah they should just be like everyone else. they should dress half naked and be drunk at a parade! who does that?! and why do those butch women cut there hair so short, they should be forced to make it grow out. and why do men wear tight jeans. they should wear baggie jeans like "normal" people do. and while we're at it why do they hold hands in public? it's not "normal" so they should stop. and they shouldn't be able to have kids "think of the children!"
i'm sure all of those who go to pride are not functioning members of society just like the thousands of drunk guys throwing beads at mardi gras aren't functioning members.

the problem i see with the gay marriage debate emphasis is it allows people to support unions similar to this family, allowing such people to feel like they're liberal and accepting, when all that they ARE accepting is straight homosexuality.

it's great that this family is so happy and cute, but not enough for real equality.

more heterosexual exposures occur every year so i have no clue what you are talking about with this gay agenda notion.promoting reckless sex isnt something exclusive to homosexuals, as actualy gays have more safe sex than any other group, as they have the lowest incidences of disease transmission.unless you suppose they simply are less active than heteros but i believe you stated the opposite

and i gotta say from personal experience, for some reason that is beyond my understanding, gay men want to fuck me.but i have yet to have a single gay man make an overture in that way, i usualy find out from mutual female friends trying to take it upon themselves to play matchmaker

    • Equal rights for everyone - not later but now.
It is time to put these homophobes out of their misery.
I do not care about sexual orientation - if you are good people, you are good people.
I do not see the reason why anyone would hate another based on their sexual orientation.

      Here is my question.
How does a person's sexual orientation affect you?

I have had gay friends of both genders for years; sometimes when we travel together, we even sleep in the same bed.
The last time I checked I were still heterosexual. So I guess I must be immune to the gay agenda, that the homophobes are yelling about.

Small minded individuals never cease to infuriate me.

excellent question, how does it affect you?

those who hate them have nothing to fear, it's not like any gay person in their right mind would be attracted to someone like that, it's a major trait that really doesn't have anything to do with anyone.

certain traits can annoy or inspire you, but which gender a person is attracted to shouldn't be one of them to incite intolerance within you. that's nothing but idiotic.

I have never understood why religious zealots and closeted politicians are so obsessed with homosexuals.
The way I see it, if the homosexuals cost you nothing - pay them no mind.

This is easier said than done - because for some reason, these homophobes feel it is their obligation to tell others how to live their lives. Even though they are the most repugnant beings to ever crawl across the face of the earth.

not very effective considering the rights they still lack.

in response to each negative post acontradiction, ibrake4rappers13, and you other dicks who have some shit to say:
nothing you ever post will change anything about the future of the country or the progression that will come because of us "liberals" and our world views.
get the fuck off of your Jesus high and think for once!
think about how much you hate, critique, offend, annoy, and redundantly express your views around here and everywhere else. people of the opposite views usually offer solutions and criticism with ideas for change. not the same bullshit of how something is "against the Bible" or how something is gonna send the "filthy liberals" to hell.

homosexual, bisexual, or transgendered individuals are not EVIL or WRONG! why is it that you people consistently find something wrong with being gay, but you never openly demand that "God" strike down every rapist, serial killer, wife-beater, or politician that is admired by the right who commits a huge moral or economical fuck-up?? the human sins they commit are excusable because they might be straight or married? any bit of faith or following of the Bible may make them better human beings than a charitable or compassionate, or educated gay person or "liberal" who has never set foot into a church or harmed a soul?????????

no matter what month they may be given or rights they might not have just yet, they are around and free like other Americans. Obama was put in office, politicians can be gay, some states and countries have gay-marriage legal, pride parades happen all over the world. there's all-LGBT programming, literature, travel, and much much more! or perhaps you've not noticed their progression and seamless addition to mainstream culture?

THEY'RE NOT GOING AWAY AND WHATEVER YOU THINK "GOD" WILL DO JUST MIGHT NOT HAPPEN IF THEY'VE MADE IT THIS FAR!

ok...bit of a rant, but any gay topic is bound to bring the haters out, i felt like saying something :)

Interestingly enough there is no Golden rule in the bible (Unless you are referring to the sermon on the mount where he says "...whatever you do onto the least of these (i.e. the poor, the hungry, etc.). You do onto me...". Not that I am condoning the way modern religious people are acting. Basic human rights are for everyone. No one has the right to deny you anything based on your chosen lifestyle.

California may be on the cusp of resuming the practice of marriage equality. It will be a glorious spectacle to witness the annihilation of proposition 8, and our pride parade could be exceptionally jovial!

    • To sit back and watch silently for a while really absorbing what is happening in the world and in the country. To not try to figure it out and just look and see simply what is going on today. This is the only way to attempt change. There are very powerful people who are watching the world like a game that they have total control over. They know what problems to add or take away. They know what isms to create to make people angry or scared. And they certainly know how to stall and come up with ways to feed the masses with hope and possible answers to solve these problems. They are in control. You let them be if you join sides and all say the same things united with your loud anger and your hiden fear. They smile and think... everything is going according to plan. If you want things to keep going the way they are then look to the leaders and join a group and repeat what ever they say.

Or stop repeating words from other people and start thinking for yourself. Stop thoughts polluted with years of conditioning and prejudices.

    • Every group is made to include, exclude and to answer questions inspired by fear and confusion. If you join a side you give in to this game. People needing guidance...most of the religeous followers and lgbt community. People need leaders. Which is when people take advantage of the followers fears and tell them what to think, what group to join and who to be against. Well I will have no part of it. If I go to pride it will not be to stand united with my lgbt community it will just be to get a drink or two or five and have fun. Because all of this grouping of people and wars of ideas is erasing the most amazing thing humans are capable of. ORIGINAL THOUGHT. People! Stop following each other and listening to each other and treating each other baddly because of what you have been told in the past! Look at the world for what it truly is and come up with your own ideas and opinions. But most importantly know that truth is not something that needs to be found or asked for. The truth is the truth and it is right there for every one of us to see. If you need to join a group to find the truth then you are asking for lies and more chaos.

-This makes no sense. What business does the government have to honor people who cut off their genitals? Who's proud of that?
It's not like it's a sacrifice they made for their country.

On the other hand, if they were serving in the military, and chose to dress and act as men, they would probably be an elite force.
