I always wonder in situations like this what really starts it. An ethnic group from one country living in an area of another country who start trying to claim it as their own or as another country, then they receive resistance from the sovereign country, and all hell breaks loose. While the borders were fucked up by the Soviets, I can't help but see this as similar to Kosovo taken by Albanians from Serbia, Israel from Palestine, or even now with the US border problems in the south.
What right does anyone have to take land from a country, just because they moved their together en masse or were there for a while? It never has been right, so why does this problem keep arising? Can't we just stick to the current borders now, and make peace from here on out? RESPECT modern (current) sovereignty. People get so upset over their 'rights' because of their ancestors who haven't existed in area for hundreds/even thousands of years... History is history, fuckin aye, move on. This land grabbing bullshit is getting old, especially with the cries for aid after they're resisted. What do they expect?
I'm no expert on this case though, so maybe I'm wrong, but it feels awfully familiar and its getting old, fast. Maybe I'm just cold hearted, but this is really starting to piss me off, these clashes are bullshit, and only innocent people die in the crossfire.
