first, seriously, why do you assume that the british you saw were "British Nationalists"? Did you notice that this is how they were described by the post, but that does not make it true. Remember that in the USA when concerned citizens attended Tea Party rallies, they were called "terrorists", "racists", "extremists", "hate mongers", and "violent", and yet there was NO violence, and the claims of racist activity could not be documented, even though the congressmen who made the claims had video cameras, there was NO supporting video. In other words, they used misleading labels to discredit the movement.

These citizens were rightly indignant: a march intended to honor troops returning from dangerous duty overseas (in which many died) was hijacked by Muslim extremists calling for the death of brittain and imposition of Sharia law in England.

Their outrage was justified, and equal to that we feel when the Westboro church protests at the funerals of our soldiers just to make a political point.

The British, Germans, French, Swiss, Danes, and many others rightly feel that their culture is under assault, and anger is growing as the Muslims keep pushing, taunting and terrorizing.

It's time to set your idealism aside. This is the same Europe that has been torn by war about every 30 to 50 years. It's the same Europe that gave rise to Hitler, Franco, and Mussolini (not to mention Stalin). Do you remember the Serbian "ethnic cleansing"?

Keep in mind that the "Jewish threat" of the 1920s-30s was perceived only, more of a propaganda tool than a reality. In this current case, you actually have the Muslims beng openly violent, threatening the society in a variety of ways, using terror against the citizens, imposing foreign rules (Sharia) upon the society and undermining the existing rule of law. In short: the threat is FAR MORE REAL and IMMINENT. And these really are foreigners, immigrants who have arrived over the past decades and refuse to assimilate.

So what do you think might happen? Combine these very real conditions with very real economic crises, and it is very easy to see how a MAJOR CONFLICT could be in the offing.

Clearly, I stated that I am unsure about the situation. I know what's going on, for sure, but I don't want to choose sides. Not until I know who deserves my support.

Yes, I understand the concern about Islam, how nations that use Sharia laws are violating basic human rights, how freedom is oppressed, and with some groups in other countries, trying to undermine the justice system. Canada just finished with a case over here regarding two male adults, a father, 40ish, and son, 29, killing the father's daughter - at 15 - because he felt dishonored over her trying to adapt to our society and culture. I absolutely don't accept that kind of behaviour at all, and refuse to see it become a law.

However, I also don't accept the rather racist fever spreading amongst the British Nationalists. What if this kind of behaviour spread to the rest of the British population? And what if this racist ranting goes beyond muslims? Because I am convinced that there is a strong possibility of that happening. Why, you may ask? Because that's racism. It usually won't stop at just one race or group of people.

From what I see, this is a mob vs. mob conflict, and if you don't support one side, you're automatically labelled as 'the enemy', regardless of what you think. Mobs are nothing more than a dictatorship of the masses. There's nothing 'democratic' about the majority if the minority isn't guaranteed protection.

That's my two cents on this issue. Please, feel free to shout and scream at me for my opinion. I don't mind.

The Islamics have caused the same problems throughout the EU and here in the US! These So called "nationalists" are doing nothing more then standing up for their freedom,culture,and way of life! The Islamic invasion of the west and their intentions to convert or kill everyone is well documented! This religion is not one of peace but one of conquest. Make no mistake about it, dissension and hatred of any religion/political precept other than that of Islam is to be overthrown, and history proves the validity of that as fact.

You admit that nations that use Sharia law are violating civil rights, oppressing freedom and trying to undermine the justice systems of other nations, yet you don't know what side to take in this? You're calling the British Nationalists racists but being anti-Islam is NOT being racist. Islam is a religion, not a race. No one claims racism if someone is anti-Christian, do they?

The Nationalists realize that the Muslims are trying to overthrow their country by ignoring the laws of the land and imposing their own rules. You denounce the father killing the daughter, yet THAT is part of Sharia law, the very law that Muslims are insisting be used for themselves in Europe. HOW can a country that is free, as England is, allow one segment of the population to live by different rules which strip every bit of their freedom away? They threaten death and destruction if they aren't allowed to have their way so the governments, in order to appease them, allow it.
These Muslims regularly protest against the very country they have immigrated to. They do not hesitate to tell the British people that they are working toward overthrowing their country. They have NO intention of becoming citizens of Britian and joining British society, they plan on turning Britian into THEIR society and don't hesitate to say so. Of COURSE the nationalists are angry.

I'm not shouting or screaming at you, but just asking you to read and research what's going on in Europe if you have any more questions. Which side you take in this issue should be obvious if you honestly look at what's going on. This same Muslim takeover has already started in America. Muslim-majority cities are already demanding to go by Muslim laws. We simply cannot allow our country to be split in two, with two sets of rules and two sets of freedoms for our citizens. Be ready.

yes, but this took place in England, where guns have been virtually banned, and the populace is nearly disarmed. They will depend upon the government to protect them, and the British leadership has been emasculated, they are as desperate to avoid offending Muslims as our own American political class is here.

I really don't want to see an extreme nationalist movement rise in Europe, but I think that 60 years of control by extreme liberalism has put European civilization in grave danger, and since that faction of political control refuses to moderate, they provide all the conditions for a rise of nationalism. We have recently seen warnings that there is fear that the economic crises across Europe, from Greece, Italy, Spain and Hungary all the way cross to Germany, France and Brittain, could lead to a rise in "far right dicatorships", and sadly I agree.

But Europeans, just like any other nation, have a right to defend their cultural values and national identity. They naively allowed a foreign body to enter their countries that has NO INTENTION of ever assimilating, but to the contrary has every intention of converting those nations to their sick and perverted lifestyle.

I agree with Crystalman's assessment: I believe there is going to be a violent reactionary response, not only in England, but across Europe. The moderate Muslims have got to step up and try to quash this radical movement or they too will find themselves lumped into one large group seen as "foreign agitators".

I'm none too happy about the grammatical inaccuracy though. Someone was obviously attempting a neologistic compound noun 'scum cunts', which is quite creative but not too pleasing aesthetically. For that reason, as an insult, it loses some impact I think. On the other hand, scummy cunts, a correct form of adjective and noun, doesn't work that well either. I guess in the heat of the moment all can be forgiven.

Ah well, that's what's lovely about English, it's very flexible and even when used in a grammatically incorrect way still has the ability to convey a powerful message.
