Iran bans 2 UN nuclear inspectors from entering

Story from Yahoo! News.

Tehran has announced that two UN nuclear inspectors will not be allowed to enter the country because they had leaked "false information" about Iran's nuclear activity.

The information in question comes from a January report announcing Iranian experiments to purify uranium, which could be used to eventually produce a nuclear warhead. Iran denied these allegations a few months later.

Regardless, the event is another speed bump in the tussle between Iran's nuclear programs and the United Nations' International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Tehran holds that the two inspectors who leaked the information will not be allowed to enter, although it will cooperate with it's international commitments to the agency including the permission of IAEA inspection.

The incident follows a forth set of UN sanctions deployed earlier this month after Iran's refusal to cease uranium enrichment, a program that can be used for both power plant fuel and nuclear warhead production if enrichment is performed to a higher level.

    • i called it a year ago and i'll say it again as i so often do, when an iranian nuke is detonated, it will be because we allowed it to happen. when it's on US soil it's no ones fault but our own

the world is so hung up on being PC and worrying about everyones feelings that it's going to be our own undoing. someone needs to nut up and say no to iran and actually mean it and then do something about it. once again, the UN proves how useless it is

I'll agree that if it happens it's our own fault. Our destabilizing of a functioning Iranian government that nationalized the oil industry in Iran led to bitter resentment toward the United States. The anger they possess toward us is the bloom of a seed we planted.

How do you mean, people are being too PC?

what i mean by too pc is that we send letter after letter after letter, sanction after sanction, and it's all ignored and has been since the 60s in every nation that there's a major issue with. the UN is a joke and the world knows it but no one (by that i mean country) will step up to call it out to do its job or hold them accountable. people seem to forget saddam ignored dozens of warnings and sanctions from the UN until the US stepped in and did something about it (granted we went for the wrong reasons)
