A new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll shows that American voters sure are looking for change – from Obama:Sixty-two percent of adults in the survey feel the country is on the wrong track, the highest level since before the 2008 election. Just one-third think the economy will get better over the next year, a 7-point drop from a month ago and the low point of Mr. Obama's tenure.
Amid anxiety over the nation's course, support for Mr. Obama and other incumbents is eroding. For the first time, more people disapprove of Mr. Obama's job performance than approve. And 57% of voters would prefer to elect a new person to Congress than re-elect their local representatives, the highest share in 18 years.
...Some 30% in the poll said they ‘do not really relate’ to Mr. Obama. Only 8% said that at the beginning of his presidency. Fewer than half give him positive marks when asked if he is ‘honest and straightforward.'’ And 49% rate him positively when asked if he has ‘strong leadership qualities,'’ down from 70% when Mr. Obama took office and a drop of 8 points since January.
Just 40% rate him positively on his ‘ability to handle a crisis,’ an 11-point drop since January. Half disapprove of Mr. Obama's handling of the oil spill, including one in four Democrats.
...'The results show ‘a really ugly mood and an unhappy electorate,’ said Democratic pollster Peter Hart, who conducts the Journal/NBC poll with GOP pollster Bill McInturff. 'The voters, I think, are just looking for change, and that means bad news for incumbents and in particular for the Democrats.'
Yup, it’s that hopeychangey thingy, I guess.

I hope the voters in this country take the opportunity in November to correct the travesty of 2006 and mitigate the travesty of 2008. The ascendancy of liberal morons to control of the House and Senate in 2006 has brought us almost to the brink of ruin. Obamas election has exacerbated this. We have a Speaker of the hOuse who pleads for passage of the misguided Healthcare Bill by saying we need to pass this to see what's in it. Now we have a Chris Dodd who states that we won't know what's in the Financial Reform bill until we pass it and get it working. The latter to attempt to correct the governent caused housing meltdown.
Obama has told two truths. One is that there will be change the other is when he received the Nobel Prize and said he did nothing to deserve it. Other than that he has been a liar of such dimensions to eclipse Bill Clinton in his quest to destroy this country. The people now in charge of the administration and legislative bodies at the Federal level are a joke. Unfortunately the joke is on us. If we don't change the balance in November this country is finished. - 2 years ago

I agree that the senate and congress have passed some ridiculous bills under some ridiculous circumstances. I was all for health reform, but the bill that got passed was stupid and does nothing but waste the money spent to enact it and the paper that it was printed on. The upcoming financial reform is looking to end up just as worthless. However, I don't think you can simply blame liberals. The entire system is failing, and conservatives pull just as much stupid shit as the liberals.

Earlier this month, Governor Jan Brewer sat in the Oval Office with President Barack Obama to discuss the critical issue of border security. The Governor personally related to the President the concerns of millions of Arizonans over the lack of security on Arizona's southern border. During their visit, President Obama committed to present details, within two weeks of their meeting, regarding his plans to commit National Guard troops to the Arizona border and commit to spend $500 million in additional funds on border security.
Governor Brewer remains eager to receive the specific details of President Obama's border security plans. She continues to extend an invitation to the President to visit with families living along the southwestern border and see the situation firsthand.
"Do your job"! Indeed.
The problem is, we have no president. Seriously, the job is vacant and in its place is this vainglorious assclown preening, golfing, banging down kobe steaks, basketballing with Reggie, hanging in Farrakhan's hood, scowling, admonishing, blaming, bankurpting the nation, destroying capitalism, alienating friends and allies and making a catastrophic mess of everything.
We need a president of the United States.

I think in the coming years, the media is going to portray the government as the enemy; supporting the wretched, disgusting conservative free market. And over the next 20 years the US will decay further, anybody of wealth will have fled- most people of wealth have already fled. Its sad. So many expats.... and I know im destined to be one- cause we can't give our all for this ungrateful rot of uneducated consumers, why should I? There will be a few rich, and many poor, and in about 60 years, those few "rich"- poor by the worlds standards, will be purged in revolution. it will be socialist, but none of us will remain here, in about 20 years things are going to get very, very bad here.

Some believe that Liberal Leftards get more clueless as they grow older, but it could very well be that they are born that way and stay that way for life.
Closet (and not so closet) communists, fascists and Muslims, on the other hand, are anything but clueless.
They are purposely and overtly- seizing this once every100 year opportunity to take control of the dumbest party they can find in order to push their own anti America agenda.
LIBS got their dream. They control the House, Senate, Supreme Court, most state governorships, the White House and the media.
Now..take a look.. 17 months later…if you can stomach it, that is.
We got record unemployment, deficits, spending, bank failures, business failures, foreign policy disasters, a health-care system forced upon us in the dead of night on a holiday-weekend.
We got corruption from the Democrats, and an added bonus of record home foreclosures. And what will that do?
Oh…It will kill our economy, cause a divisiveness in this country not seen since the good ole hippie dippie Sixties.
We have a tyrant in the WH who has played more golf in 17 months than Bush did in 8 years.
The war has spread to Pakistan and Waziristan.
And guess what? Gitmo is still open, even though the terrorist in the WH has arranged for his pals there to get flat screen TV’s.
Lobbyists still control the White House, but Goldman Sachs is under attack by the White House even though multiple department heads within the White House itself are from Goldman Sachs.
Congress and the Senate have approval numbers in the single digits and the ahem…”presidential” approval plummets weekly - or is it daily?

Let's hope that Obama continues to play lots and lots of golf, basketball...attend parties, etc. The more he is away from the Oval Office...the better, for the American people.
He knows only one thing.....how to campaign.
When you have a candidate for the presidency claim that he "will lower the seas" and claim that he is capable of changing not only the US, but the whole world for the better...he better succeed in at least some of those promises.
Unfortunately, Obama hasn't made anything better in the US or the world...only much, much worse. Under his leadership, the US economy is tanking, unemployment is the worst in the past 70 years, Democratic leaders are promising a multitude of future taxes on the backs of American taxpayers to pay for their continuing spendthrift ways...yes, even on the middle class (another Obama promise that will be broken). Obamacare was forced on the people, which 70% of Americans didn't want. The US is losing the war in Afghanistan while he just fired his second General. The Mexican Mafia is invading the Southwestern states along with tens of millions of illegal Mexicans...yet Obama stopped the building of the fence to keep them out (they are his and the Democrat's future voters). He first ignored, then has mismanaged the Gulf oil spill...his blunders go on and on.
And, worldwide leaders no long respect, trust or with rogue countries, fear him.
In short, he is a socialist ideologue who has forced his beloved Alinsky down American's throats...and on top of that, is an incredibly incompetent manager/leader.
Many naive, gullible Americans believed in him...they cried, they fainted, they worshipped him, and he actually began to believe some of the nonsense he was spewing...it was frightening then and it is even more frightening now when we view the damage he has wreaked in the last year and half.

I don't get what you're trying to get at curtis, none of the criticisms you've leveled aren't things the left hasn't already said.
Seriously, none of us were jumping in joy for more or less anything he's done.
And if running against "the Obama agenda" means voting for people like Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann then this country is officially insane.
They call the man a socialist when he's LESS liberal than Ike Eisenhower or Richard Nixon, who were fucking Republicans, They claim he hasn't done much, which is true (and contradictory to their earlier point) but they HAVE NO FUCKING PLANS.
Seriously, dance a jig all you want that Obama'a approval ratings are down. It's US that are voting him down. And if you seriously think that we prefer YOUR assholes to this asshole, you're in for a big surprise.

Damn, Saladin, you really are angry. That's too bad. People are basically good, and you seem to hate that in favor of "winning" an arguement. Those with happy lives are the winners, and I am very happy.
Now, you must not listen to the conservative pundants when you say they don't have a plan. They do, it's simple - flat tax, regulation where needed (MMS needs to be bitch-slapped), and spending within our means. Spending within our means, means, creating more productive people to make those means larger, and making the entire country of individuals more prosperous on their own volition.
I look for those I can trust, not those who say they can be trusted, but prove it. Sarah proves it to me because she's had such a simple start, and agrees with what I said above. Simple.
Now, Saladin, you simply don't represent everyone, neither do I. Many agree with you, many agree with me - albeit, not so many here, but that's why I'm here.

Yes, believe it or not, people were not jumping in joy for Obama on the left the same way people on the right were not jumping in joy for Palin or McCain. Lots of people had their doubts and most liberals were just excited because they were going to elect someone who wasn't Bush. Plus, his campaign rhetoric was a lot stronger than his current performance. There was a good Daily Show segment showing how far his policies are from his campaign promises.
Plus, who the fuck else was I gonna vote for? McCain? Why the fuck would I do that? Kucinich was out and Nader and the Green Party have never stood a chance

The only Democrats who are having any success are running AGAINST the Obama agenda:
Some Democrats on the campaign trail have hit upon a winning campaign tactic: Run against President Obama and his agenda -- especially the health care overhaul.
Democrat Mark Critz railed against the Obama administration's health care reforms while campaigning in his western Pennsylvania district -- and was easily elected to the House.
In West Virginia, Democratic stalwart Rep. Alan B. Mollohan, who voted against an administration-backed energy bill last year, was defeated in his primary after his challenger accused him of not having enough disdain for the measure that was wildly unpopular in his home district. He also was hammered for supporting health care reform.
Rep. Joe Sestak, in Pennsylvania's Democratic Senate primary, challenged the White-House-endorsed five-term incumbent, Sen. Arlen Specter, and was rewarded with a cushy eight percentage-point win.
While other factors and issues played key roles in Democratic primaries and special elections this year, shunning -- or even rebuking -- the White House so far has helped Democrats.

The Rolling Stone magazine, hardly a conservative magazine, along with writer Tim Dickinson, write a devastating article about the gulf oil disaster, from the liberal perspective. While the article writes about how we should not be drilling for oil in the oceans and the usual Bush basing, this article just is devastating towards the Obama administration and their handling of the disaster.
It's a long read, but a very interesting one.http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/17390/111965?RS_show_page=0

The attack from Obama's left flank began in earnest yesterday, as two reliably liberal forces openly compared Barack Obama's plan for escalating the war in Afghanistan to Bush's fiasco in Iraq.
Obama fangirl Rachel Maddow put together an Obama-Bush mashup on last night's show, playing Obama's speech announcing his Afghanistan plan next to clips of Bush talking about Iraq, and pointing out the eerie similarities. She hesitantly defended Obama—or at least seemed like she was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt—but it was clearly a shot across the bow.

Even the Liberals who normally get erections every time Obama speaks are figuring out he's an empty suit:

Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann and Howard Fineman react to President Obama's Oval Office Address on the oil spill. Here are the highlights of what the trio said:
Olbermann: "It was a great speech if you were on another planet for the last 57 days."
Matthews compared Obama to Carter.
Olbermann: "Nothing specific at all was said."
Matthews: "No direction."
Howard Fineman: "He wasn't specific enough."
Olbermann: "I don't think he aimed low, I don't think he aimed at all. It's startling."
Howard Fineman: Obama should be acting like a "commander-in-chief."
Matthews: Ludicrous that he keeps saying [Secretary of Energy] Chu has a Nobel prize. "I'll barf if he does it one more time."
Matthews: "A lot of meritocracy, a lot of blue ribbon talk."
Matthews: "I don't sense executive command." - 2 years ago

An open letter from actor Jon Voight to President Obama:
June 22, 2010
President Obama:
You will be the first American president that lied to the Jewish people, and the American people as well, when you said that you would defend Israel, the only Democratic state in the Middle East, against all their enemies. You have done just the opposite. You have propagandized Israel, until they look like they are everyone's enemy — and it has resonated throughout the world. You are putting Israel in harm's way, and you have promoted anti-Semitism throughout the world.
You have brought this to a people who have given the world the Ten Commandments and most laws we live by today. The Jewish people have given the world our greatest scientists and philosophers, and the cures for many diseases, and now you play a very dangerous game so you can look like a true martyr to what you see and say are the underdogs. But the underdogs you defend are murderers and criminals who want Israel eradicated.
You have brought to Arizona a civil war, once again defending the criminals and illegals, creating a meltdown for good, loyal, law-abiding citizens. Your destruction of this country may never be remedied, and we may never recover. I pray to God you stop, and I hope the people in this great country realize your agenda is not for the betterment of mankind, but for the betterment of your politics.
With heartfelt and deep concern for America and Israel,

sorry, but Jon Voight is just slightly out of touch with reality here. I just don't understand why empathy for those suffering in this world has to be translated into anit-Semitism, and I'm not saying that hasn't happened all over the world, but I'm not pinning it on Obama for standing up for the suffering, and there are reasons why Mexicans are so eager to jump the border, and we helped to create those reasons with things like NAFTA.
While I agree with you that fundamentalist Islamics have shown themselves willing to use the innocent and their suffering to promote an inhumane cause, you cannot simply rule out the suffering of those who are being used, and I am not willing to label Obama's empathy for their suffering as a cause of increased anti-Semitism. It's there, it's always been there, and people who are that biased are going to use anything to express their bias, but blaming it on Obama because he dares to speak up for the voiceless who are suffering is just irrational.

Perspective: Many presidents start with high approval ratings which drop during their presidency. Most of the people who are given as examples left with a lower approval rating than they came in with, except Bill Clinton, who managed to have his approval ratings hit their peak DURING his sex scandal/impeachment ordeal!

President Obama if his term ended today would be one of the most consequential president's in U.S. history. He stabilized the global economy, just got China to unhinge it's currency and let it float on the open market and help American exporters, got Russia to relinquish one third of it's nuclear arsenal and shut down it's research reactors, turned job losses of 800,000 a month upon taking office to job creation since December of his first year in office, oversaw successful relief efforts in Haiti during the worst humanitarian crises North America has ever seen, worked to staunch a potential global pandemic in swine flu, finalized the withdrawal of forces in Iraq to responsibly wind down the conflict to it's end, passed a comprehensive overhaul of the nations health insurance system that had been sought for the last eighty years, oh and he's the first black president. Conservatives don't get to write his political epitaph just because they want to, and they only get to write the history books in the republic of Texas not The United States of America.

in so much as he's also been the best democratic president since Clinton, who was also pretty good. Actually I'd say so far he's a better president than Regan, though that's somewhat subjective.
This says more about how crappy the last few republican presidents have been than anything else.
I personally believe that 90% of the people here who are claiming they will ote for neither a republican or a democrat are going to vote either republican or republican backed "independent" (i.e a republican who is too big a douche to even own his own party affiliation)

I haven't been particularly pleased with him either. I sort of knew he was a compromising centrist when I voted for him, but I hoped the gravity of our situation would make him grow out of that.
Now it's clear that's who he is. He doesn't really believe in anything and his constant attempts to pander to blue dog Dems and idiot Republicans has given us nothing but trouble. And there is no signs that he's going to wise up anytime soon.
That being said, the only reason I won't vote for him in 2012 is if someone better actually has a shot. Otherwise, I'd take a second term with this asshole over the party of Palin ANY DAY.

Yep, that's what people like Crystalman don't get- when we are dissatisfied with Obama, it's because he is too far to the right, pandering to the conservatives.
So still when the choice has to be made on election day, he would be a hell of a lot better than anything on the right.

and you would have voted for who instead? The really old guy who wanted to extend all bush's policies who openl;y admitted his running mate was a moron? Or the totally crazy even older one that wants to put the dollar back on the gold standard?
For hindsight to be 20/20 you actually have to look behind you in the first place.

i knew that one was coming. I wonder if it has anything to do with the way televised speeches are given. Maybe they run right to the edge of the teleprompter or something and it makes pluralization vague. We know Obama knows what twitter is. IIRC it was used in his campaign. It might even be a not too bad way to make announcements even.

The Obama administration only makes sense when looked at through a prism: the one where Obama's hatred of the US and the West is taken into account. His gross incompetence actually helps his aims: to bring socialism to America and the destruction of the Western Judeo-Christian way of life.

meh. he probably just does what he's told by the TV. It's funny how they try to compare the guy to the person they mostly all voted for but have so little actual factual basis for it that they have to resort to bad photoshop.
It's like those mothers who drop their baby on their head and then try to sue the blanket company because if the company is somehow at fault then it make the other concept that it was their fault for dropping him seem less true.

its been two years- two years!!!! this isn't microchip techonology. we still have stupid mother fuckers who believe in "Revelations," in "2012s", it is insane how stupid we are, and that intelligent people would question the speed of implementing intelligently constructed sociological frameworks within a society of backward ass spoiled egomaniacs- and both the left and the right FEAR the government; and, you have to believe all sentiments of distrust in the government are from a reeling ownership class pathetically trying to maintain their stability because they can not maintain there stability through busniess practices- cause they are not good at their job they just inherited it!

Yeah, "they all work for the elite," "dont trust the government," maybe everybody should just start dropping out tunning in, dropping off or what the fuck ever those conservative people suggested instead of VOTING. People who are intelligent, lets not fuck ourselves! Conservative assholes, move into the woods, its cool, see ya, montana, the dakotas, fucking hunt, grow soy beans if thats your game, just leave the cities, leave the suburbs...

inner cities are evidence of the extent that we can damage our society through ruthless capitalism. now, lets not confuse what capitalism is- capitalism is the only existing form of economic action; it can be monitored, or it can be unmonitored in its dialogue with the community... conservatives stand for a free capitalism. intelligent people stand for a monitored capitalism. Monitoring capitalism- has represented every single form of government since the dawn of man. Communism is capitalist. Socialism, is capitalist- democracy, republics, empires, whatever lame unsuccessful word you use to describe historical edifices, everything contains capitalism... the simple discussion is whether or not Capitalism should be monitored. Jefferson said, I paraphrase, people are too fucking stupid to take care of themselves so to that ends is why a government is necessary. Humans, like horses, will eat until their stomachs explode...
