KAMPALA, Uganda -- In simultaneous bombings bearing the hallmarks of international terrorists, two explosions ripped through crowds watching the World Cup final in two places in Uganda's capital late Sunday, killing 64 people, police said. One American was killed and several were wounded.

The deadliest attack occurred at a rugby club as people watched the game between Spain and the Netherlands on a large-screen TV outdoors. The second blast took place at an Ethiopian restaurant, where at least three Americans were wounded.

One American was killed in the blasts, said Joann Lockard, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Embassy in Kampala.

Kampala's police chief said he believed Somalia's most feared militant group, al-Shabab, could be responsible for the attack. Al-Shabab is known to have links with al-Qaida, and it counts militant veterans from the Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan conflicts among its ranks.

A head and legs were found at the rugby club, suggesting a suicide bomber may have been to blame, an AP reporter at the scene said.

At least three Americans - part of a church group from Pennsylvania - were wounded at the Ethiopian restaurant. One was Kris Sledge, 18, of Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania.

"I remember blacking out, hearing people screaming and running," Sledge said from the hospital. His right leg was wrapped and he had burns on his face. "I love the place here but I'm wondering why this happened and who did this ... At this point we're just glad to be alive."

At the scenes of the two blasts, blood and pieces of flesh littered the floor among overturned chairs.

Police Chief Kale Kaihura originally said at least 30 people had been killed, though the toll could be higher.

Later, a senior police official at the scene said that 64 people had been killed - 49 from the rugby club and 15 at the Ethiopian restaurant. The official said he could not be identified.

Kaihura said he suspected al-Shabab, that country's most hardline militant group. Its fighters, including two recruited from the Somali communities in the United States, have carried out multiple suicide bombings in Somalia. If Kaihura's suspicions that al-Shabab was responsible for the Uganda bombings prove true, it would be the first time the group has carried out attacks outside of Somalia.

Guess you missed the correlation of the "faithful Muslims" willing to do "Allah's" will, and always will as long as it (the Qur'an) remains unchanged. . . so I stand on my analysis.

For the many Muslims that do immigrate to the west, even though they come to "live free," they bring their theological baggage with them, set up mirror communities of those they left behind and fall victims of the same old repressive Imams Shariah control.

. . . and if you do not think that is happening everywhere they go, even here in America, you my friend are trying to rationalize the irrational, and refusing to acknowledge the turmoil that inevitably plagues any society that suffers their very presence.

every single example you use from idealogic transfers to our society, to fundamentalist theocracies exists just as much by all faiths not just islam.
apply your assesment of islam to europe over the last two thousand years and it fits perfectly with christianity.
go back even further before that and all those charges jews are guilty of.
does that mean that judaism and christianity are religions of death too, or is it more a matter of geopolitical circumstances with religion as the method of radicalizing the mass's?

It does not apply. The only theology throughout the ages that has remained the same in it's doctrine to murder and subjugate any and all who resist or oppose it, and to propagates it's "superiority" is Islam. . . no matter where its geophysical location. . . it. is. written. as. Allah. commands.

That is taqiyyah Jubal, and apparently you've bought the story, but wait, in due time you'll see that nothing will change. . . yes many will fall away, but the root cause (the Quar'an) will remain the same, justifying it's atrocities on its own and especially on those who are not. . . all in the name of Allah.

im not trying to tell you your business, but check out the policy of the catholic church before ww2 as it was employed through out europe as divine law.it didnt exactly accept the notion that one could live peacefully with out also accepting christ as theyre personal lord and savior.just as islam is guilty of imposing its "supremecy" the church did the same, via crusades, and inquasitions.not radical splinter groups like we are seeing with islam today, but it was church edict to kill non christians.exactly the same, and actualy probably worse.the inquasition was almost four hundred years of torturing and killing those who didnt accept christ, not to mention the converso's who did had to prove it was authentic or be subject to further torture.

not to mention our pre european history is largerly given to us via the torah aka old testament wich was written by jews, so it is completely plausable that jews were just as guilty of oppressing and killing non believers in kind.i mean while they didnt kill christ, they werent looking to stop it either.being as they were the authors im sure the bloodiest details were left out.

the vengefull god of the old testament requires we kill in his name from retribution for murder, to not observing the sabbath.while jesus make no statements requiring any man to kill another, his word was manipulated first by his apostles (pissed at jews for not accepting jesus as the christ) and later by the church.it was the church that subjected jews to two thousand years of deicide charges and blood libels, wich future atrocities would be built upon (holocaust ring a bell).

all just words in a book.not dangerous in and of itself, it just depends on the user.is it more reasonable that islam is the cause of muslum aggression or poverty and oppression, as only the 20 percent of islam suffering it in the middle east have shown theyre teeth.
why has africa been war torn over the last century, religion, or poverty and oppression?

truth is, our lives, and way of life are under threat of attack.but if we discount the individuality of men and lump al of islam together, we fail to identify the enemy.while we are concerning ourselves with the kareem abdul jabars of the world the osama bin ladens sneak right by us.

You've expounded on your understanding and perceptions of ages of old. . . yet it is the evolution of the great societies to this day that we must recognize the influences of the past.
      ~ Most have progressed.
      Islam has not.
. . . that's it, I'm done, as I said earlier to you, you can continue to rationalize the irrational mind of Islam to justify it's psychotic doctrine. . . but I will not. . . it always has been and continues to be the most perverted theological cancer upon all humanity since its inception in the 7th century AD.

yeah, its getting a tad repetative you and i on this subject matter.same reason i dont respond to any of galawaymans posts, as we have heard all we have to offer each other repeatedly.
but i gotta say your poetic pros is something that is intilectualy alluring.if you arent a writer you really should take a stab at it.i mean people buy shit books all the time written by hacks who profit well off of it.your commentary on here, while i may not care for the content, is composed in a manor greatly lacking in our current society of lol and omg twitter tards.
with the internet available you got nothing to lose.

feel free to send me a royalty check or two if it works out, i have no shame and will take the payoff as a thank you for the suggestion.

i have tried every concievable angle to no avail.i mean if islam is the religion of death violence and killing, then mohamed ali would have jumped at the chance to kill vietcong infidels right, but he refused.
feel free to read my arguments on this and if thier are any points i missed id be glad to know em.

I would say the exact same thing about Christianity and Judaism as well...all the Abrahamic religions are rooted in violence and destruction. History is rife with examples.

Now that we're throwing flowers, let me not fail to throw some of my own toward you. . . at time you infuriate me, but you've not failed to make me think of what you say and not to be dismissive of your perspective. . . even though I process a different world view about the totality of the here and now.
. . . you, are every bit as capable as I. . . let there be no doubt.

jubal, don't take this to be dismissive or rude, but the information can easily be found. . . but you must do more than a casual look, 'cause you need to do more than scratch the surface and dig deeper imho, therefore I'm replying to you as I did. to freecrack:
