It is reported Roman Polanski will not be extradited from Switzerland to the US, with the Government in Switzerland stating the decision was made because the US "failed to provide confidential testimony" and the article said national interests were considered.

"Polanski, 76, has been under house arrest in his Swiss chalet since December 2009 pending the decision."-BBC

In the case, Roman Polanski was arrested and pleaded guilty for unlawful sex with an under-aged girl in 1977, though he left the US before being sentenced. It was at the 2009 Zurich Film Festival when he was arrested for the extradition case.
