Well the son had no attachment to his mother, and no memory of this woman as his mother. For him she was just another woman. A different story for her. The mother carried him for 9 mo, gave birth, held him as a baby in her arms, and should at least have some memory of that. Yet 20 years later she seeks him to have sex? Well, yes and no. She gave the kid up for adoption so there was no mother-son bond between them. As far as their attitude towards each other it was likely woman-young man, not mother-son. Still, he was a minor and her biological offspring and she should have used common sense or at the very least, shown some class and discretion.

My comment was not intended to exonerate her, but meant as a simple observation. My error if I made one was not clicking the link at the link to see that she gave him up when he was four. Regardless, my comment still stands. Obviously neither the boy nor the woman ever formed a "normal" mother-son bond that would have prevented this, so apparently there was no emotional taboo between them, although I'm sure they both understood the social taboo. Given that the woman was in her thirties the onus was on her to make sure nothing like this would ever happen because she was supposed to be more mature. She was not. That makes her a pedophile and an incestuous one to boot.

My comment about class and discretion was not mean to imply that if she was going to do something like this, that she should be discreet. Rather, as a mature adult, even if she didn't feel the mother/son bond, she should have shown some maturity/class and walked away from any temptations. I hope that clarifies the issue.

If you notice, most of the comments on this thread are about the situation, not the woman- "THAT is sick" vs. "SHE is sick" This mediates the responsibility from the mother to both of them equally. Like it's both of their fault.

While in the other article about the man who only asked to have sex with his daughter, arguably the most condemning comments are:
