    • Amen! You tell em' Stewart. I'm so sick of people trashing Obama when he wouldn't hear a word of praise from them even if he singlehandedly scuba dived and stopped the BP oil spill.

    • i have a theory: its almost as if the country deserves a someone like sarah palin as president..i mean most of the critisism directed towards the president seems like a reach..and don't forget those looney bags over at fox..how quickly the american people have forgotten the farce that was the bush years..oh yeah where in the hell was the tea party durring bush jr years?

    • I've observed this phenomenon with most presidencies - some people just won't give in and accept AND work WITH the current President. This time it seems a lot worse, though. I don't recall Democrats ever being this obstinate and unreasonable during Republican administrations.

    • The video is hilarious. However, those of you who seriously believe there is nothing I or others could be Happy about... are slightly wrong. If I/we don't like any President who is in office I/we will be happy with one thing S/He does - and that's LEAVE when their term is over. Whether that be the first or second makes no difference. Personally like many other "Leadership" roles you need one (1) term to make mistakes in, a second (2nd) term to alter those mistakes, and sometimes a third (3rd) term to know when enough is enough and become a "role model" for others.
No we can all get back to enjoying this video and having a GOOD LAUGH...

    • for those who think the president has done nothing-that may be your opinion, but is not a matter of fact. go to www.politifact.com - what is often called a conservative fact checking service. They have a full list of Obama promises kept (120), in the works (243); compromise (37); promises broken (19); stalled (83); not yet rated (3). Whether you agree with those kept or not, doesn't mean nothing was done. And, Stewart is right - to the media and the public-nothing Obama does will ever make you happy - and that would most likely apply to all presidents-no matter what the political affiliation because there are always those who agree and those who disagree. We have far more at your fingertips information and round the clock; not to mention pundits galore who espouse their opinions -with and without basis in fact! But they serve the purpose of feeding those who disagree (or agree) to make noise and give a sense they are right and founded in those feelings-even if they are way off base!
I have a friend who insists on respecting the office of the president, no matter who is serving in the office, as it is a huge job. If she doesn't agree, she is reserved in her judgement, being stingy with any words expressed and is loudly supportive when she does!

    • the thing is despite all the efforts by the liberal media to portray obama as the 'man that can walk on water'..its really hard to cover up the stench when you dont do shit and when you do decide to do something..its OUTSIDE of what he promised..

so its not like Obama did not get any help from the liberal media but unlucky for him..not all liberals are that naive and dense

    • What has he done to make us happy??? i would gladly give credit where credit is due but where? Health care = fail, bailouts = fail, "i will not increase taxes on anyone making less than $250,000 = fail. Unemployment will be lower than 8% = fail...
wait... our Commander in Chief has certainly showed us how to vacation, and enjoy "long weekends"

The media is held accountable by whom? If they were held accountable, they would stop spinning division and fear. They pick and choose what 'is' news. Their 'is' 'is' not always in the best interest of the American people. Their 'is' 'is' for the ones who pay them, not 'us'.

Taking that assumption for granted, that only means they put him in that role since it sold better

But they are notoriously fickle since the ratings favor conflict, that's the whole problem that the facts or the truth never matters, it's what will sell the most

He became president because the majority of the people were sick to death of Bush/Cheney/Dumsfeld/Rice/Gonzales/Rove/Feith/Libby, etc. Many of us put our hope in Obama, only to be badly disappointed. Others have simply thrown themselves at his feet and refuse to see the man for what he is....a sellout.

I think you are correct when you stated, "If it weren't for the media, he wouldn't be President."

Fortunately, they were out-smarted by ordinary Americans. I think the media spun Barack Obama (a man of color) and Hillary Clinton (a woman), because they thought they would lose, regardless of who won the Democratic Primary.

America said "NO", "HELL NO" to McCain/Palin, it was impossible to steal the election. The shenanigans they pulled in 2000 and 2004 couldn't work when enough Americans 'stood up' and screamed 'HELL NO, THE REPUBLICANS HAVE GOT TO GO'.

Now that same media are 'spinning' tea partiers as legitimate. The 'tea party' is just a rebranding for the group, 'we the people' voted out of office! If mainstream media would give half of the coverage to the voices of the Democrats who are trying to turn this country around, people would not be as confused with disinformation. They 'spin' with purpose. Leaving ordinary Americans to believe fact and 'right-wing' opinions are equal. They are not! Death panels were not fact, they were 'spun' opinions of 'right-wing' losers.

When the Republicans were the majority, they interviewed Republicans. Now that the Democrats are in the majority, they interview the Republicans to tell us what the 'think'. It's an 'Assault on Reason'.

According to some media there never will be a "good reason" so that the way that they report things will only confirm your belief should make you happy

    • Glad someone finally said it and it doesn't surprise me that it was my beloved Jon Stewart. What does surprise me is that it's taken him this long to say it. Gold star!

    • It's not so much about Obama and the job that he is doing, it's a lot more about Fox and the job they are doing.

Just as Jon Stewart being "The Most Trusted in News" is not about how good a job TDS is doing as it is about how horrible a job the rest of the media is doing that Jon looked so good in comparison.

He does have a point that even if Obama had met with the Boy Scouts, then Fox would've reported it as indoctrinating the youth to worship him since that is exactly how they have reported similar stories before.

Once again, it takes Comedy Central to show the comedy we refer to as news. Mainstream media pick and choose the slant they put on President Obama. Today on MSNBC they were showing the 'soft' questions, which were a fraction of the show. They could have shown the answers the the tougher questions, which were asked. But no, they wanted to portray it as a fluff piece. So they did. They are spinning with purpose. They are trying to manipulate the 2010 elections.

Of course the Republicans spin mainstream media as liberal. But, they have been successful in the past, turning war hero's into draft dodgers and draft dodgers into war hero's. They are an "Assault on Reason".

    • Obama IS doing a good job. He is not doing a perfect job...but he is doing a good one. He has used his political influence to help gain passage of three pieces of landmark legislation in the first two years of his presidency. Many presidents have failed to produce even one piece in four years. There are a number of ways to measure what he has done but one of the easiest is simply to look at the America that Clinton handed to Bush and what Bush did with it and then to look at the America Bush handed to Obama and look at what Obama did with it. Then factor in the fact that the Democrats made a good faith effort to work with Bush both before and after 9/11 and the fact that Republicans couldn't find good faith in a dictionary...

    • True some people will never appreciate anything Obama does, but Stewart almost sounds as if to be suggesting that Obama is doing a good job and everyone is just bitching.

If so then why is even the ACLU on his ass for being to much like Bush? Even Stewart did a show or two (not that long ago) where he showed how policies haven't changed.

What Obama is being a crappy leader, with crappy policies but it's not Bush doing it now so we should just be happy?

The segment was a lot more about Fox and what kind of negative spin they continually use than it was about Obama.

TDS does other segments that criticise Obama when they need to that shows they are a lot more "fair and balanced" than Fox claims to be.
