Trafficked children working in UK 'cannabis farms'

Children are being trafficked into the UK to work in so-called 'cannabis factories' according to police.

The factories grow cannabis on an industrial scale.

They are typically located in private houses, but sometimes in agricultural and commercial properties.

A study for the Association of Chief Police Officers has found children are being used to tend crops, to illegally divert electricity for the factories, and to break into rival sites.

Even if the children are found they rarely talk about what has happened to them and often run away from local authority care.

    • the war on drugs is a joke, and until imo the goverments realize that banning drugs and arresting people who grow/make or import them is not the right solution. where there is demand ther will always be supply, i would like to see goverments regulate and make them safer and also eduacate people from an early age the impact drugs can have on your life and those around you. the current system doesent work and new stratagy's need to be considered.

I agree, the government is severely backwards when it comes to policy making, truth is, marijuana is not dangerous, however people can make anything dangerous and enough education is not given in schools about drugs, what information is given is all scare tactics.
a lot of people can handle drugs, and use them in moderation without turning into crack addicts, like some people would have you believe.
