Youtube is filled of videos of kittens looking fluffy and cute, so it is not surprising the rage built up over CCTV footage of a woman dumping a pet cat in a bin.
The owners of Lola found her in the bin distressed on Sunday morning and watched their CCTV footage, to find out how the cat was trapped in the bin. After seeing the images of an unknown woman throwing their cat in the bin, they started a facebook and youtube campaign to find the cat bin lady and report her to the RSPCA.
"I’d like to know how she would feel if she was stuck in a bin for 15 hours without food or drink.’
His wife, Stephanie, who has a daughter from a previous relationship, was appalled by the attack.
She said: ‘I find the entire thing sickening. I cannot believe someone would do this to an innocent family pet.
'Lola was a rescue cat and was wary of people when we first got her. She has a lovely disposition and really wouldn’t hurt a fly."-Daily Mail
It is reported the couple had CCTV after their car was repeatable damaged by drivers.

sounds like the internet discovered the work number and fb profile, which probably put her under police protection. I wonder if the threats might have lessened the police or rspca response against her, they should have waited to see if she was going to be prosecuted first before getting too angry.
"But there's more: they also found out where she worked. They posted the phone number and name of her boss. They found out where she lived, and posted a Google map of that address. They found her Facebook profile."-bb

we shouldnt have to be afraid to let our cats wander outside because some sick people might throw them in bins (which btw is attempted murder or a cat, why else would she throw it in a bin without thinking that it will get crushed in a bin van). I always assumed cats can play out like that as every cat owner I have known has done the same. You let your children play outside and I bet you dont always supervise them.

agree, we let all 3 of our cats out over the years. since they're animals (even domesticated ones) it seemed cruel to lock them up indoors all day. you worry, but then again one of them did bring in a dead wild rabbit once...

Its terrible that someone would do that. Also, its terrible that people still don't realize that their house cats don't belong out side, much in the same way that ones unwanted pet fish doesn't belong in the local pond.

If the owners care so much why is this cat not on a leash? Not that the woman is validated, but if you care so much how about you don't let your cat wonder around. She just as easily could have walked off with the cat.
Cat owners really get to me on this issues. Don't think I'm being biased. I have the same affinity for dogs.

Everyone here lets their cats wander around their neighbourhood. I've only ever seen one guy walk cats on leashes and he was very odd.

The leash matched his suit and shoes so it was a definite highlight of my day.
