I am not suprised of the situation here. Since the oil spill anything that happens with "WATER" is bad news. You read about it constantly. Is BP going to have to pay for this clean up too? Im curious of how much money these guys have? And how well they sleep at night? And do they really even care about the SITUATION?

Follow the link to the rest of the story and check out the comments--specifically the highest rated comment by someone who lives in Mississippi about 200 miles from the gulf and recently caught a fish called a tarpon that is only found in salt water--very interesting and probable theory--he says that all the salt water fish in the gulf are trying to escape the oil and contaminants and so are heading up the Mississippi River and subsequently dying as a result of being intolerant of fresh water. The oil killed them, just not the way everyone thinks.

that's what i was thinking too. Although many toxins are shipped up and down that river also and a small spill would be easily covered up there are other ways such as runoff of pesticides and rising temps cutting oxygen levels increasing bacterias and microbes http://figgdimension.tumblr.com

I really don't think our big science brains can accurately predict the long term effects of oil disasters on the ecology . Money doesn't care about people. Nigeria is a good example of prolonged oil spill contamination on the land.

I think it was a mass suicide. We all know it wasn't the oil or the dispersant why they would tell us if that was the case. So I guess the fish are protesting something and this is how they do it by mass suicide. why that will teach them to follow some nut job fishy preacher type. So don't worry This HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH B.P. why them folks are on our side. There our friends in need. They would never do anything to destroy the planet we all live on. Would They??? Theres no way that it could be run off from the factory farms up river or from the feilds They would never do anything like that why the E.P.A. would shut them down. Oh yea! if Ya'll believe that mess then Ya'll really need to pull your head out your ass because it going to happen again in a few months. This is not just going to go away. with the flooding and the gulf stream moveing this suspened oil around in the Gulf we don't know where it is going to kill next but we do know that it is going to keep killing till it settles to the bottom. Then it will kill off whats down below. Oh by the way thats where all kinds of crittrs live. Stuff most folks will never see. Those of us that have seen it may never see it again. So remember folks while your fueling up your big ass S.U.V. or that big pretty truck your helping to fuel the distruction of the very planet that is OUR home.

It's hard to say if this incident is connected to the BP fiasco. We need to ensure other sources are not the cause.
A for instance if you will...
If there has been any flooding up river an increased amount of pesticides could be at fault by forming a dead zone. But then again, dead zones from Mississippi run off are not that uncommon, though they don't usually occur right at the mouth of the river.
While I believe it is very likely to be the BP problem to be at the source of this issue, I would not fall pray to the assumption that it is without evidence...
But that's what we have testing, research, and biologist for; right. - 1 year ago

I want everyone to compare the government and media's ( same thing ) reaction to the oil spill, with their reaction to 9/11.
Personally I believe that what has happened in the gulf of mexico is far worse than what happened on 9/11. Also, if you ask me, the oil spill is something we should never forget. Fuck the government.

This video is as alarming as anything that I've ever witness, and it's irrefutable. I need to do some research on the asteroid. My garage always stays stocked with 6 month supply of food and water.

Well every generation since the days of Jesus thought the world was coming to an end, in fact the "end times" preachings and books, have made a lot of narcissists rich. I'm sorry the whole idea; "Jesus is coming back in MY lifetime" thing is just a little annoying and egotistical....
Other than that we could very well have the planet near a dangerous tipping point, and whether it's God or nature, it just might be tired of playing.

Excerpt:
NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana (AFP) – Thousands of fish have turned up dead at the mouth of Mississippi River, prompting authorities to check whether oil was the cause of mass death, local media reports said Monday.
The fish were found Sunday floating on the surface of the water and collected in booms that had been deployed to contain oil that leaked from the BP spill in the Gulf of Mexico, the Times-Picayune reported.
"By our estimates there were thousands, and I'm talking about 5,000 to 15,000 dead fish," St Bernard Parish President Craig Taffaro was quoted as saying in a statement.
He said crabs, sting rays, eel, drum, speckled trout and red fish were among the species that turned up dead.
Taffaro said there was some recoverable oil in the area, and officials from the state's wildlife and fisheries division were sampling the water.
But he added, "We don't want to jump to any conclusions because we've had some oxygen issues by the Bayou La Loutre Dam from time to time."
