This is a fraud! The first TV commercial was aired in the summer of 2006 on Time Warner Palm Springs for the show Marijuana Compassion and Common Sense with Lanny Swerdlow. I know because I produced it and aired it myself! I have included two that were made at the same time and both were on TV over 4 years ago! I have since produced a few others that can be seen on my channel here or on YouTube if you don't live in SoCal where the show is STILL on the air.

Every business category in Los Angeles has it's share of abuse to the system. We would never allow used car dealers if we used the same rules for them as is used for collectives. The real questions are how many are needed in an area that serves over 5 Million people? How many Rite-Aid and Walgreens are there in that same area? Why can't we buy marijuana at Rite-Aid?

People are afraid of change. They have been and always will be. The reason pot is illegal isn't because it's bad for you. If you believe that then you are ignorant. Pot is illegal because it can be grown from home and cannot be properly taxed. This goes hand in hand with moonshine. Is moonshine illegal because it can get you really drunk? No. Is it because the Gov't doesn't want rednecks to get rich making the stuff? No. Then why is it illegal? It's the same reason pot is illegal.
Alcohol is very harmful to you body in high doses, and more importantly, whenever you see one of those advertisements on TV showing some new medication, what's the last thing you hear? A laundry list of negative effects the drug may cause. So what it all boils down to is the fact that EVERY DRUG IS BAD FOR YOU... BUUUUUT isn't it up to YOU to take responsibility and take the drug periodically? You dont typically see people getting hammered at 6:30 in the morning just to go to work for eight hours. And saying that pot makes you an unsafe driver is also ridiculous. When I compare personal experiences on driving drunk and then driving high I know that driving drunk is MUCH more dangerous than driving high. Being stoned doesn't make me stumble about and blur my vision. But maybe thats just me. Maybe I'm less susceptible to pot than other people, idk. So what you should do to maintain safety while you drive is very simple, and people dont seem to say it enough... but here it is: GROW THE FUCK UP! Take some personal responsibility for your actions and don't get fucked up before getting behind the wheel. The Gov't shouldn't have to babysit us all the time keeping the "vitamins" on the top shelf so we cant get to them and eat them like candy. What they should do is sit us down and say, "Look, this is a vitamin, it's good for your body if you eat one everyday. BUT, if you eat it too much it can be really bad for you." I don't appreciate being treated like a child. Just give it an age restriction and lets move the fuck on with humanity. - 1 year ago

This is Reefer Madness 2010.
The video speaks for itself.
Given that the information presented by the opponent of medical marijuana -- you know, the "what's next, medical cocaine, medical heroine" moron Randy Thomasson, was very "reefer-madness"-esque, I decided to do a bit of research. I only researched for like 5 minutes. I found the above video (which is ridiculous), and a bit more.
Go to marijuanaharmsfamilies.com, check out the bottom, where it says "© 2010 Campaign for Children and Families."
Campaign for Children and Families is an extreme right-wing anti-gay group.
It also says: "A Project of SaveCalifornia.com", which advocates abstinence-only education. I'm not sure if they are the same group as "Campaign for Children and Families [Remaining Ignorant and Bigoted]".
These religious groups spread only ignorance and hatred -- outright lies and propaganda. It would be laughable if only ordinary people were not so susceptible to propaganda.
Here's a quote from good ole' Randy, just to get an idea of how he thinks:
"Most government-run and many private halls of education are run by anti-God, liberal professors, teachers and administrators. That's why I can only recommend home schooling and solid church-based schools for children, and strong Christian-based colleges and online colleges for young adults."
Got that quote from savecalifornia.com.

In 2003, under the bush admin., the US Department of Health and Human Services patented the active Cannabinoids in "marijuana" as antioxidants and neuroprotectants.
US Patent 6630507
Titled "Cannabinoids as antioxidants and neuroprotectants"The govt says that cannabis has no medicinal value yet they hold a patent on it!
This is one reason they had to give up their lie about it killing healthy brain cells.

I've seen local ads in Los Angeles for weed dispensaries for some time now almost always followed by another ad for discrete hookups for gay men. I remember in the 80's there used to be a guy on local tv who talked about the local weed quality and how dealers where ripping people off for not including stem weight when selling lids.
This is just the first commercial that heads up its ass CNN has noticed.

I really get tired of those who want to force their "moral values" on people with whom they disagree. Legalization of "medical marijuana" is long overdue. Actually, I am in favor of totally legalizing pot and subject it to the same taxation policies as alcohol and tobacco. Prohibition did not work regarding alcohol, and in fact, created a much larger problem in our society.
Saying it is a "gateway" drug is no different than the totally ridiculous Reefer Madness promoted in the 20s and 30s. For every person someone points to and says....see, he/she started with pot and went on to harder drugs....there are others who never did. Addiction is addiction, and pot has absolutely no physical addicting properties. Whether one wants to follow the medical model or other ideas regarding addiction.....pot is not addictive.
I would much rather see someone toking and getting a buzz as opposed to drinking and getting drunk. There will always be those who handle substances responsibly and those who don't. Knowledge/education is what is called for, and remove the emotional aspect from this.
Bottom line.....if you don't want to use it, fine. But don't stand in the way of others who benefit from it.

Not disagreeing with you. Simply pointing out that it's best to say "indefensible moral values" versus "defensible moral values". We object to the first, but the second is what's best for us in spite of ourselves like "do not physically harm your neighbor", "do not make a slave of your neighbor", "do not steal from your neighbor", "do not destroy your neighbor's property", "conduct your affairs with others honestly", etc. Certain values are to keep our culture civil, whereas other values are merely to impose unsupportable restrictions because some jerk can't find his or her way to maturity.
Some values provide for maximum liberty for the greatest number possible, other values ensure maximum liberty for some at the expense of the liberty of others.
It is the second set I call "indefensible moral values". Restrictions on marijuana consumption, distribution and sale fall under this category - not the first.

Hip Hip hurray for the people behind that commercial!!! The ill should have no law prohibiting them from feeling better. To allow less, is simply cruel.
I also so hate that stupid “gateway” crap. I have snorted cocaine, I have smoked meth. I did not care for either, and I gave them a good shot toooo!!!
Alcohol is much worse for you then heroin. I have drunk alcohol in various concoctions; I did not go on to harder drugs. I do not care much for alcohol.
I do like pot. However, I have a job and they drug test me so I do not smoke it very often. Yet, if pot was legal, not just for the ill, which I support, I know I would not be a pothead. I get tired of looking at the world through a fish bowl all the time. I had that experience before all the drug testing crap started up in the 80’s. I had no desire to smoke pot for years. However, if someone was to offer it to me, I might have smoked it, if I did not have to drive or cared to do something else.
When Holland made drugs legal, the number of people that started to have problems with the drugs went up 2%. However, that is within the statistical grey area, and has been said to more reflect the population of people that were just under the radar from other studies.
Those who are drug addicts have a disease and should be treated for it. The rest of us, like me, do not have a problem with using drugs recreationally, especially pot.
So much for the “gateway” BS. - 1 year ago

Clearly too little and the message is a wrong one. Certainly, religion ought not be intruding in a civil matter and the state ought put limits on individual liberty in such a manner.
The question is this - regardless of the consequences to the individual who uses marijuana, does anyone else have the right to trump their choice in the matter?
Is there any rational and reasonable argument that an individual is or ought to be the property of the tribe? Of the community? Of the nation? Of the state?
I argue that no rational argument is possible to support the notion that the state or laws can put limits on individual liberty to use marijuana PROVIDED such use in no way affects the health of those around you.
Yes, the individual does and must have the liberty to smoke themselves right into the grave. In the United States, we value the notion that the individual is sole-owner of their life which means also they are sole-owner of their death. You cannot rightly force a human being to live who does not wish it, nor can you forcibly compel them to live the life YOU want them to live (assuming their choices aren't interfering in the liberty of others to live freely).

Support legal cannabis for responsible adults, not just medical patients.
While I agree with the benefits of medical marijuana, I have to say that everyone can benefit from it's effects and it should be regulated the same way alcohol is.That anti-Prop 19 guy in the video doesn't know what he's talking about, and is spewing out the same tired talking points fed to us by Anti-Drug Propaganda. Anyone can look at the Netherlands and see that pot legalization will not lead to heavier drug usage. The same logic he used could be applied to tobacco or even alcohol.
Stop the insanity and legalize cannabis.

Indeed. Sometimes I get rather alarmed at all of the side effects reported with pharmaceuticals these days, but it's nice to know up front what one is getting oneself into before one makes a choice. It would just be nice to have the freedom to choose without needing government approval to do so. That seems contrary to the letter and spirit of the revolution and our Constitution.
If I think a thing is worth the risk in my life and my life alone, what warrant does the state or anyone else have to interfere in that choice?
