'Trafficking victims' rescued in Belfast brothel raids

Properties in Belfast were raided with reports of a number of victims trafficked rescued in Operation Apsis. It is stated the Operation aims to rescue victims in a number of UK based raids.

""Men and women are being tricked or forced into prostitution in major towns and cities.
They are being robbed of their liberty, stripped of their dignity, and suffer intolerable conditions as unwilling emblems of the sex trade."-BBC quoting Detective Chief Superintendent McComb.

Though the Home Secretary Theresa May was accused of abandoning women and victims of trafficking by former HS Alan Johnson. In an interview he said the department opted out of a EU directive which would clamp down on trafficking in Europe.
